I'm using Jomsocial with Readybytes JomSocial Profile Type. The registration process is working fine (apart from some language translation issues, which I think are with JSPT) but the Facebook Avatar and Cover image isn't getting imported in to Jomsocial. If I look under JFBConnect 's "Users" the avatar shows fine there.

I'd also note that the Social Profiles - JomSocial plugin did not install with the JFBConnect installation. I tried removing and reinstalling and it still didn't so installed it manually.

If the Social Profile - JomSocial plugin isn't installing with JFBConnect, it's an indicator that JFBConnect isn't properly detecting JomSocial on your site. Can you let me know what version you are using of JomSocial?

Beyond that, can you check your /tmp directory to see if there are jfbc_tmp_xyz.jpg files there? Those are the original avatar files we download from the social networks and are the first step to know where things are going wrong if those are downloading right.

Thanks,
Alex

Jomsocial version is 3.2.1.5

There are 2 sccover_facebook.....jpg files in the temp area, both are 0 byte. No jfbc...jpg files.

There are other temp files, so it's writeable.

It sounds like there's an issue with the downloading of files from Facebook and storing them in that directory. If they are 0 bytes, then the directory is writable, but the information from Facebook didn't work for some reason.

Have you tried with other social networks, like Twitter, Google or LinkedIn? Knowing if the avatar and cover photo import from those will also help.

The main reason the images wouldn't download is due to a server issue with connecting to those networks and reading the data (either something is blocking the read, like a firewall, or the server isn't setup to follow specific redirects that the social networks use to locate their images). The best things to test further here are to:
* Set the Global Configuration -> Error Reporting option to 'Maximum'
* Set the 'Enable Debug Mode' In JFBConnect to 'Yes'
Then, when you authenticate, a better error message may display which can help explain the issue as well.

Let us know about either of the above questions and we'll do what we can to help get you going.

Thanks,
Alex
