Hi,

I was trying to Share to Linkedin a page on my site. I get a 403 Error as page title. Even though I could share this page (after editing the error text ), so it appears on LinkedIn I have not received points for sharing. I checked, LinkedIn rule settings are ok.

Why I get "403 Error title" and why I haven't got points for sharing?
I checked my page source and I have proper page title.

Please verify that you are trying to share a public page, not one that is for registered users only. If LinkedIn cannot access the page, it cannot scan the content to get the title, etc.

Regarding AUP, I'd say it might get fixed in resolving the first issue with the 403 error, so let's focus on that first.

Thank you Melissa,
I found the problem. I use a site protection script which did not appreciate LinkedIn bot. So I could share the website and Ive got points after it but...
I have a new problem. I use Falang and I have 4 languages on the site. English is the default. I tried to share the site on each language but when the sharing window pops up the site description and title is always filled in Brazilian only. Doesn't matter which language I browse my site and try to share the pre-filled data remains Brazilian.
Is it a JFBconnect issue or LinkedIn? Can't we "force" LinkedIn bot to read the data is given on the page we are on?

Thanks

Glad to hear you got the 403 forbidden thing fixed. Please note that it may take up to a week for LinkedIn to re-scan your pages and properly fetch the right data. Until then, you still may see 403 as the description when sharing some content.

As for the language, I'm actually a bit surprised. Usually, LinkedIn is very English-centric, so it's unusual that it's using Brazilian. My guess is that it's detecting that you're logged into LinkedIn already and using your profile information. Is Brazilian your default language on LinkedIn? Can you try from a different LinkedIn account and see what happens?

JFBConnect doesn't currently set the language for LinkedIn's social buttons. It's something we have planned for the future as we already set it properly for Facebook and want to do the same, where we can, for the other networks.

I hope that helps,
Alex
