Hi Alex,
last joomla 3.3.6 + JFBConnect 6.2.0 ...nothing changed...

I don't know why but when I post article on my Facebook page, as you can see on the links below, Facebook doesn't post anymore the content image as preview, but the site logo image with the right link to the article page:
- article to post on Facebook
- article posted on Facebook (the last one with: "Un ottima partenza!")

PS
- I left article permission as always: "public"
- I tested also running again the AutoTune
- the preview button Social Debug give me back an error and a warning, but I don't understand very well this data and fon't know how to solve these:

Error: This page has both an og:url tag and a rel="canonical" tag, but they are set to different values. The Open Graph information shown below may not be used by Facebook.
Warning: The og:image tag is missing.

Please, Can you help me on understand and solve them ?

Regarding the image tag, we have a known issue in JFBConnect v6.2.2 with inserting OpenGraph tags onto the page. Could you install this test version of our JFBCSystem plugin on your site- sourcecoast.com/jfbcsystem_6_2_3/jfbcsystem_v6.2.3.zip. I am currently working on getting a build of v6.2.3 ready, but I think this will help fix some of your problems with the content posting and the og:image warning.

After installing the new plugin, please run your URL through the Facebook Open Graph Debugger again to fetch new scrape information (developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/) and see what your post preview shows.

Error: This page has both an og:url tag and a rel="canonical" tag, but they are set to different values. The Open Graph information shown below may not be used by Facebook.

For your example URL (aimfi.org/associazione/convegno-aimfi-lombardia-2014), this means that there is some extension setting a aimfi.org/component/content/article?id=39&Itemid=184" /> tag on your page and that URL is different than the URL that JFBConnect is setting for the page for the og:url tag. JFBConnect should be using the current URL for the og:url, which it is if you view the source. You'd need to investigate why the canonical URL is different and determine if that should be different. Usually, that's not the case, but let us know if it is.

I hope this explains the two issues, but please let me know if you need further help.

Thanks
-Melissa

Hi Mel,

about image tag:
- I updated JFBConnect from 6.2.0 to 6.2.2
- I run AutoTune
- your JFBCSystem plugin link give me back a 404 error. Please, Can you check and let me know? Do I have to install the plugin through the Jommla Extension Manager or manually ?

about canonical URL, I investigated about:
1 - Two weeks ago customer wrote a new joomla article "A" with URL "A", then he posted the article "A" URL "A" on Facebook page through the JFBConnect Social Channels feature.
2 - After that he modified the article "A" and decided to change the article URL (alias) with a new one URL "B", most appropriate. Then he posted the article "A" with the new URL "B" on Facebook page through the JFBConnect Social Channels feature.
3 - Now, the article mentioned is a new one, article "C" which was "accidentally" assigned with the same first URL "A" (alias). Then posting the article "C" with the URL "A" on Facebook page through the JFBConnect Social Channels feature I had back the error message mentioned.
May be this the reason for the error ? Please, How can I solve it ?

the preview button Social Debug report me also:
Search > Meta Tags Found > Description > Your description is 61. It's recommended to be greater than 75 characters
The 75 characters is a minimum lenght that can be valid for all major Socials, as a rule ?

Many Thanks for support

For the link, it looks like it put a period at the end. Try:
sourcecoast.com/jfbcsystem_6_2_3/jfbcsystem_v6.2.3.zip

Install through the Joomla Extension manager.

If you're using one of our Open Graph plugins to set the og tags (for example, Open Graph - Content), please edit your object in the JFBConnect > Open Graph > Objects section. From there you can set the description length to >75 characters. If you're not using one of our plugins, JFBConnect will attempt to set the og:description tag based on the meta description on the page. 75 characters is a good guideline to follow for Facebook, but other social networks may vary.

JFBConnect is setting the correct og:url. The canonical link that is being set is being done by some other extension that's not JFBConnect or standard Joomla configuration. If you have an SEF component installed, you can start there.

Hi Mel,

So, about image tag:
- I updated JFBConnect from 6.2.0 to 6.2.2
- I run AutoTune
- I installed your JFBCSystem 6.2.3 plugin
- Then I run my URL through the Facebook Open Graph Debugger developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ - The preview show me the content image again as the first one in the list, so, I tested and it's running again.

1 - What's happen if I add an intro image on my articles ? What is the first image JFBConnect choose to be added on Social Channels posts ? Intro or Content image ?
2 - as you can see the Facebook Open Graph Debugger tell me:
Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Meta with name instead of property: The meta tag on the page was specified with name 'author', which matches a configured property of this object type. It will be ignored unless specified with the meta property attribute instead of the meta name attribute.
Is it anything I have to correct ? How ?

about canonical URL:
I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 + Seblod 3.3.7 + JFBConnect 6.2.2, so add all articles using Seblod, May be this the reason for the error ?
As far as you know, Do I have to force Seblod router to use canonical URL ?

75 characters
many thanks for the info

1 - What's happen if I add an intro image on my articles ? What is the first image JFBConnect choose to be added on Social Channels posts ? Intro or Content image ?

The precedence for picking an image to insert is:
1. If the 'Open Graph - Content' plugin is enabled:
1a. If an object has been created in the backend (JFBConnect > Open Graph > Objects, the value in the 'Image Type' field will be used.
1b. If no objects have been created, then JFBConnect attempts to pick in the following order the 1) full image 2) intro image 3) first content image 4) category image
2. Any SCOpenGraph easy-tag inserted manually on the page
3. Any images set in the JFBConnect > Open Graph > Configuration > Defaults setting

Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Meta with name instead of property: The meta tag on the page was specified with name 'author', which matches a configured property of this object type. It will be ignored unless specified with the meta property attribute instead of the meta name attribute.
Is it anything I have to correct ? How ?

This means that you have the following on your page
<meta name="author" content="Segreteria" />
but there is also an og:author tag that you can set when og:type is article (which your page is). It is just saying that if you're intending to use that author, then you need to set it in the correct Open Graph tag format. The Open Graph author tag is optional, so I would ignore it. JFBConnect doesn't attempt to set the author tag at all.

about canonical URL:
I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 + Seblod 3.3.7 + JFBConnect 6.2.2, so add all articles using Seblod, May be this the reason for the error ?
As far as you know, Do I have to force Seblod router to use canonical URL ?

It's not really necessary to fix this warning, as Facebook is respecting the og:url, which looks correct. We don't have a good answer for this one. So if you'd like to resolve it, I'd recommend you play around with your Seblod settings to see if it helps.
