It was my understanding that after configuring the JFBConnect and Jomsocial plugins, users' facebook picture and profile pictures would automatically be imported into the jomsocial user profile when users register via Facebook, but this is not happening... What is wrong?

Using the most current version of Joomla 3.3.6
Most Current JomSocial Plugin: V3.2.1.5
Most Current JFBConnect: V6.2.2

Yes, it all should be. Can you make sure that:
1) You've enabled the Social Profiles - JomSocial plugin
2) You've configured the profile import features in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area
3) You don't have any 3rd party plugins that may be trying to redirect the user after they register for the first time.
