Hi Alex,

I have set up jfbconnect 6.1.2 and all seems to be working just fine except for one small issue.
I want to use the registration page that come with jfbc but it will just redirect to the standard joomla registration page.

I have selected the registration component to jfbconnect under the config tab but no luck. Am I missing a user plugin or something?

Also is there a way I can get the terms and conditions to appear on the registration before they click on register?

Leigh,
First, just so you know, JFBConnect v6.2.2 is out now. There's quite a few improvements in the 6.2.x series, from new features to performance. It should be a one-click upgrade and is definitely recommended, but not required.

As to your issue, I'm not sure what would be bringing the user to the Joomla registration page. Just to double-check, are you positive it is actually the Joomla registration page? I'd recommend turning off SEF URLs and then checking the address bar. If the registration page has option=com_users, then yes, it's the Joomla registration page. If it has option=com_jfbconnect, then that's our page. By default, we use the JFBConnect registration page. Unless you have the Social Profiles - Joomla plugin enabled *and* have selected the Registration Component to be "Joomla", what you describe should not be happening.

If it is though, can you PM me admin access to your site so we can put it online temporarily and test further?

For the Terms of Service, I'm not sure what profile extension you're using, but this should be possible. The standard User - Profile plugin that comes with Joomla has a T&C check, which can be set to show on the JFBConnect or Joomla registration flows, and that may be all you need to use.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Hi Alex, I have had the same problem and you got the admin details and realised that it had to do with CB 2.0 being different....

I believe the question above is about something different, though I could be wrong.

I want to use the registration page that come with jfbc but it will just redirect to the standard joomla registration page.

I read that as the registration page that is reached after a user clicks the social login button where the user can fill out any profile information that couldn't be imported from their social profile.

Leigh, if you meant the "Register" button that you can click on the SCLogin button where a user can register 'the old fashion way', without a social network account, then yes, that is something that CB 2.0 hijacks and redirects to their own page.. and there's nothing we can do about it.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

Hi Alex,

The registration link defaults to (/index.php?option=com_users&view=registration&lang=en). The Social Profiles - Joomla plugin is disabled and the Registration Component is set to JFBConnect.

And yes this is when I click on the old fashion register without a social network..

I take it CB is Community Builder, I don't have Community Builder on my site. I have Jomsocial which that selection in the Registration Component works. I also have K2, easyblog, kunena as some of the main extensions. I will PM you our details Alex so you may take a look.

Regards

Leigh

Leigh,
That is the correct behavior then. JFBConnect doesn't have a 'general' registration page that you can link to for users. Our registration page is only accessed after the user uses the social login process. The social login process can be initiated from the standard Joomla registration or Joomla login pages as well as the SCLogin module itself.

I hope that helps explain, but if you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
