fb page link was created by leo1079
Hi,

<Firstly my apologies in advance if I may have missed the obvious in the documentations.>

Basically, in the top bar, I would like to add a fb icon (button), that would serve as the link to my fb page (to be precise, a click on that should take the user to my site's fb page)

Is it possible to do this via JFBConnect or am i missing something obvious here?

Thanks in advance'
Davis

Davis,
With JFBConnect v6.2, released last week, we added a new "SCSocial Find Us" module. In there, you can add links to your various social network profiles and have an icon shown for each. It can be set to show in a set module position, or you can have it 'float' in a corner of the page similar to the social sharing bar in the bottom right of this page.

I hope that helps, but if you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

That's brilliant.

On the JFBConnect v6.2, how do I go about upgrading this? And is there any risk in upgrading (particular concern on the login/registration bits)?
I'm bit nervous whenever it comes to upgrades.. ;)

Thanks

Davis,
You shouldn't run into any issues upgrading. We go to great pains to make the upgrade process as simple, and trouble-free, as possible.

To upgrade, you can either:
* Go to the Joomla installation manager -> Update. Click "Find Updates" and the update should be found. Just click it and use the "Update" button.
* Download the newest release and install it like any other extension through the Joomla manager. JFBConnect will auto-upgrade itself. You don't need to uninstall first.

I hope that helps, but if you have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Ok, I managed to upgrade.

However, I couldn't get the SCSocial Find Us module to work with the float option.

Do I have to assign a module position for the float option as well?
Emm.. if you could point me to any documentation on this, that would be useful...

Thanks

Unfortunately, we haven't created the documentation for that module yet.

In general though, yes, it must be placed in a module position that will be shown on the page.. even though it won't be shown in that location when in the floating mode. Most templates have a debug position or other footer type position that works well when you need a position on every page, but doesn't create a border around an empty module (since the module won't actually be there).

I hope that helps, but if you need any more help, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
