Hello.

We are trying to install JChatSocial Professional onto our JomSocial and JFBConnected website.

The chat works when the user logs in to Jomsocial through the Joomla/jomsocial log in but does not appear when the user is automatically logged into JomSocial through Facebook using JFBConnect. Do you know why this would be and is there a way to fix it through JFBConnect? I added my site below if you would like to see for yourself. (please do not mind the ClickDesk chat on the Home page, that is just for unregistered customers needing help).

We are really concerned with this issue because we need a chat that works regardless of how someone signs in.

Thanks again for all your great support. You rock!

Kind Regards,
Jeff

I just woke up. It appears this has been resolved. I am not sure how it was resolved but it appears they may have re-installed the chat extensions.

Thanks Jeff.

Jeff,
If you ever need to send private details, you can use the mail icon under my avatar to the left. Additionally, we can look up your Autotune history and determine the site(s) you're using JFBConnect on. I went ahead and removed your URL from the post above already though.

I just tried to login to your site and initially got a MySQL query error. I'm not sure what threw the error, but it wasn't JFBConnect. Unfortunately, I didn't copy the error as I wasn't thinking very well and just reloaded the page.

Now, however, I'm logged in. In the bottom right I see a chat box which says "Offline - Leave a message". Is that what you're talking about? If not, where should I be looking?

In general, JFBConnect uses Joomla's own login system to authenticate a user. There's no normal reason that a user logging in through JFBConnect should be treated different than other users. We'll gladly investigate however we can though, once we know more.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you.

I thought it was resolved, but apparently it was not. I just went into the settings and found that the chat was enabled for "PUBLIC" users. I turned that off and the same issue occurs. The chat disappears when being logged in through Facebook login but not when manually logged in.

- "Offline - Leave a message". Is that what you're talking about?
No, that is a separate chat that only remains on the HOME page. What I am speaking about is the one that should appear when you are in the community.

Thanks regarding the error. I think they are doing some work on the site. I was just curious if you knew what could be causing the system to discriminate like that.

Regards,
Jeff.

Awesome! I'm glad to hear you (hopefully) got things going. If your IT guy has any feedback on what was wrong, we'd love to hear it. We're always looking for answers to some of the stranger questions, and this is one we hadn't heard of before and would love to hear what the actual resolution was.

Of course, if you run into any other issues, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
