I look forward to the new release of JFB at the end of September. As I am working on a marketing project, have a question, this new version we can expect a feature promotional coupon that is offered to the user a link short of a page or a social network?

Do you mean that the coupon will be offered if the user Like's the Facebook Page? If so, no, we will not include such a feature. Using the Like button to gate content or offer rewards is strictly against Facebook's Platform Policies and can result in your application being banned and your past Like's and Comments removed.

The new release will offer point rewards using JomSocial, EasySocial or Alpha User Points to reward your users with points for using the Like, G+1, Twitter or LinkedIn Share buttons, if you want to award your users with those systems.

I hope that helps answer your question, but if you were looking for something else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

That is functionality we specifically will not implement. Facebook's Platform Policies prohibit using the Like button to reward your users. For more information, please read this blog post . Specifically the "Changes to Platform Policy" section:

You must not incentivize people to use social plugins or to like a Page. This includes offering rewards, or gating apps or app content based on whether or not a person has liked a Page. It remains acceptable to incentivize people to login to your app, checkin at a place or enter a promotion on your app's Page. To ensure quality connections and help businesses reach the people who matter to them, we want people to like Pages because they want to connect and hear from the business, not because of artificial incentives. We believe this update will benefit people and advertisers alike.

We develop JFBConnect for users to add social network integration to their sites in the best way possible, and that includes following the platform policies of each social network. We can't help our users violate those policies or else Facebook can ban our users from integrating their sites with Facebook. Using solutions like the ones above are your own choice, but you are taking a risk in case your website is reported or automatically detected by Facebook by trying to incentivize the use of the sharing features.

I hope that helps more clearly explain.

Alex

I really did not know about the politics of Facebook, since there are many extensions in JED working on it.
Thanks for the clarification.

No problem. Facebook, and the other social networks, all provide a lot of features that can be used in ways that those networks don't want you to use them. We work very hard to ensure that JFBConnect adheres to all the different platform policies, even when they can be broken in many different ways.

If you have any other feedback or suggestions, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex
