Topic-icon Login presents Invalid Token when using normal joomla login

I have successfully installed and integrated Facebook to my website. The auto-tune worked wonderfully. However, I am having problems with logging in using the normal joomla login process.

Scenario:
- JFBConnect 6.1.2
- SCLogin 4.1.2
- J 3.3.3

I have installed SCLogin into a Youtheme menu so that if drops down when mouse over - no popup ie show text. Prior to installing JFBConnect, the login was fine for Joomla users. If there was an error logging in, the user would be directed to the Joomla login page www.mydomain.com/login.

After installing JFBConnect using autotune (no errors all went well), I can log in using my facebook account (first time is sync my joomla user to my facebook account) however I cannot log in using my Joomla id and password anymore. The screens goes blank (white) and displays the joomla invalid token message. If I reload the website, clear cache, etc. the message will appear repeatedly. However, logging in using facebook is OK.

Unfortunately, I cannot send you a link because I had to remove JFBConnect so that my customers could continue to login.

Note: Un-installing JFBConnect, screwed up my SCLogin. The facebook button remained on the form and the template (default) disappeared ie nothing to select. I had to re-install SCLogin again.

You shouldn't have needed to uninstall JFBConnect. You could simply un-publish the SCLogin module and the JFBCSystem plugin, which would hide the module and disable all features of JFBConnect.

As to your problem, it seems like there's a caching issue in the SCLogin module that we're working to diagnose. If you go into the Advanced parameters area and simply set the "Caching" setting to "Disabled" that should fix your issue. If not, let me know.

For uninstalling, I'm not sure what happened there. It's also likely a different caching issue. Some of the files loaded in the SCLogin module come from JFBConnect (when it's installed). If you uninstalled JFBConnect, Joomla may have cached some of the output and expected the files from JFBConnect to be able to load properly.

I hope that helps get you started and, if you run into other issues, how to disable JFBConnect a bit cleaner than a full uninstall.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks. Yes I did have cahce enabled in the login module - so perhaps that was the issue.

I have subsequently re-installed JFBConnect it remembered all of my previous settings, but unfortunately it now fails on the error check. The error message states that JBFConnect system is disabled.
- It is enabled
- My template is yootheme square which is responsive but not mobile
- Cannot simply change templates, this is not a practical solution for most as the template takes higher priority over the extension.

That said, since my previous post I have only uninstalled JFBConnect, re-installed SCLogin and now re-installed JFBConnect. Of course I have more users and content but nothing else has changed thus am confused as to why I would get such an error messages since it was working with the current template, plugins and modules that I am currently using. Can you suggest how I begin to isolate the problem.

Thanks

Edited:
- One thing I did notice different, is that this time when I installed JFBConnect, it did not white out my SCLogin. Previous it change my SCLogin settings such that the FB login button appeared. This time my SCLogin remained the same ie without showing the FB login details.

First, our error check tool isn't recommending to use another template and abandon your current one. It's simply recommending a quick test of switching templates to see if that resolves the problem. That helps narrow down one possible cause of the issue.

As to the issue, the JFBCSystem plugin does indeed seem to be disabled. If you uninstalled JFBConnect, that would have disabled the JFBCSystem plugin as well. Please go to your plugin manager and make sure it's enabled. There are also Authentication and User plugins that need to be enabled for JFBConnect to allow for social logins. Again, when you uninstalled JFBConnect, those plugins would have been disabled automatically.

I hope that's it and it truly is that simple, but if not, let me know, and we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks. I wish it were that simple too :) Perhaps it was and if so then I feel truly embarrassed and baffled. I checked this [plugins enabled] numerous times and even went to the point of changing the order of my system plugins to look for conflicts. Eg. I know my rstickets report plugin gets unhappy if he is not near the top :)

Subsequently I have uninstalled and re-installed a few extensions eg acymail which also was having problems with plugins. Error check is running OK now so in the end I am not sure what the problem was. If I have time (so not likely to happen), I will restore a backup from the previous day and see if I can retrace the steps which caused it to come ok.

So this can be closed off and I shall post again if I can find an order / conflict.
