I just installed jomsocial and I'm using sclogin to login/register. While on non jomsocial pages the user menu dropdown works (drops down, lol). But when I land on any jomsocial page it stops working. Like in here after logging in jomsocial profile Any pointers? Could be an issue with bootstrap?

Please enable the "Include jQuery / Bootstrap" setting in the JFBConnect -> Configuration area. That should hopefully fix your issue, but if not, let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

That didn't work. And I'm also having trouble with the LOGIN via Google and Twitter. Unlike Facebook, SClogin always tries to register instead of logging in and throws the error message about the email already being used. Is that the normal behaviour? Anyway, the dropdown doesn't work and for what's worth Google login never worked, only cared now as we're rehauling the website. Should I turn off jquery?

And just because...I post a lot on support forums for my website. This forum rocks. Probably the only one where I feel that the developers actually care about solving issues. Just sayin' :)

Unlike Facebook, SClogin always tries to register instead of logging in and throws the error message about the email already being used.

From Twitter, there is no way to retrieve the user's email address. Because of that, the first time a user logs in with Twitter, they'll see the Login or Register page of JFBConnect. From that, they can login to an existing Joomla account or register a new one.

If you're seeing an error message about the email address already existing, it means:
1) You have the "Enable Automatic Registration" setting as "Yes".
2) You have the "Automatically Link Accounts by Email" setting as "No".
With that, JFBConnect detects that the user already has an account on the system, but provides the extra step to make the user actually login to that account (or create a new account if they want to for some reason).

For what it's worth, I just registered using Google and it went off without a hitch.

As for the drop-down, I just visited some JomSocial pages while logged in, but couldn't see the SCLogin module anywhere. If you can point me to a page to test, we'll gladly investigate further. The example link in your first post for the profile just redirects me back to the home page for some reason.

And just because...I post a lot on support forums for my website. This forum rocks. Probably the only one where I feel that the developers actually care about solving issues. Just sayin' current/smile

Thank you very much for saying so. We get some flak for using a forum because people think it means they'll never get a response. We try to prove that wrong daily, and glad to hear you're pleased with our support.

As always, if you need anything else, just let me know, and we'll gladly help however we can.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry, link doesn't work because I turn off SEF. Heres the new link .

I also had "Enable Automatic Registration" and "Automatically Link Accounts by Email" settings as "Yes". Not sure what's going on there. I'll test more. If you linked without problems that means system is OK. If you have the chance to test twitter I'd really appreciate it.

And don't worry about comments about the forum. What do they want? Phone customer service? Well, if someone wants to pay for phone support you can offer the service through a 900 or something. It will pay by itself.

Drop Down menu still dead, by the way.

Gustavo,
To narrow down the drop-down issue, can you do a few things and test:
* Re-enable the "Include jQuery / Bootstrap" setting in JFBConnect
* Put CloudFlare in Development mode to disable caching, temporarily
* Clear any Joomla caches you have enabled.

The issue you're running into, I believe, is a conflict with JomSocial's Bootstrap Javascript. They include an altered version of the Bootstrap Javascript library into the page. All pages on your site are also including the standard Joomla Bootstrap library that's part of core Joomla. When the JomSocial version is included though, they can cause conflicts on some features.

By taking the steps above, you'll include our special version of Bootstrap. It's been modified to *only* work with JFBConnect and not conflict with other extensions. To properly set it up though, you'll need to make sure all caches are cleared so the old configuration isn't loading.

If things still don't work, please leave it setup that way so we can investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex
