Hi,

Today I installed JFBConnect component on my production site for the first time. I took the latest versions of both JFBConnect and SCLogin for my production site. I am using Joomla 3.3.3.
I ran the Error Check and it went smooth.
I created the facebook id and key. On facebook, "Status and Review" tab, I made sure to click yes for "
Do you want to make this app and all its live features available to the general public?"

Further Login Permissions for "email" , "public_profile" and "user_friends" is showing green.

Though in my website, when I click the "Facebook" for login, It prompts for facebook userid and password and after that it shows me the following message.
"Thanks for signing in using Facebook. Do you already have an account on this site, or would you like to create one?" The user is never created on my website.
Am I doing something wrong ? Following is the url of my site.

www.schoolsteps.in

I tried with Google Plus login as well though it gives me redirect error. The redirect url register on google plus "http:/www.schoolsteps.in/...." though in error, it shows "schoolsteps.in/..." (www is missing)

Please help.

Regards,
Dimple.

Dimple,
If you just created a brand new Facebook application, you'll need to upgrade to JFBConnect v6.1.2. Facebook released Graph API v2.1 on Friday, and that changed how all newly created applications work. Older versions of JFBConnect don't work with a minor change they introduced, which makes profile import impossible. Since the user's profile (email, name, etc) couldn't be imported, JFBConnect is bringing you to the form-based registration page to fill that out.

In short, upgrade and Facebook should work.

For Google, I just tried to register on the site, and was brought to the home page with the following message:

Message

Your account has been created and an activation link has been sent to the email address you entered. Note that you must activate the account by clicking on the activation link when you get the email before you can login.

Google profile successfully connected.

So that seems to work for me. Please let me know if you're still having Google issues and we'll gladly help investigate.

Thanks,
Alex

Thanks Alex. Following are the updates.

1. Facebook integration started working after I updated to JFBConnect 6.1.2.

2. The issue which was happening with Facebook is happening with Twitter as well even after updating the JFBConnect. As of now, I am not concerned about Twitter but just thought of letting you know.

3. Google Plus on is still giving me redirect error. It is surprising that you were able to use it. I tested it on multiple machines and it is not working for me. I will look into the issue myself and will come back to you if I need help.

Thanks & Regards,
Dimple

Awesome! Glad to hear that helped.

That's standard behavior for Twitter. There is no way to get a user's email address from Twitter. Because of that, JFBConnect always sends them through a form-based registration flow. You can control the amount of questions that are asked and minimize it down to just asking for their email address if you want. Things like username and password can be automatically generated by JFBConnect if you want the shortest flow possible.

Can you try logging in using Google using a few different combinations of your URL, like:
* With www
* Without www
* With https (if your site supports it)
If one of those works, and the others don't, that will help narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex
