Topic-icon After upgrade: "Facebook Javascript library not found"

9 years 10 months ago - 9 years 10 months ago #45195 by rikbro
After upgrading today from JFBC 6.0.1 to 6.1.0 (latest) and running the AutoTune, I get the following error message:

Test: Facebook Javascript library inclusion
Fail: Facebook Javascript library not found, but JFBCSystem plugin is detected. Please contact support if you experience issues.

That was the only thing that failed in the AutoTune (although I had also run the AutoTune just fine on the prior installation before upgrading).

Any ideas?

Thanks. -- Rik

PS: Running Joomla 3.2.3.

It's definitely correct that it's missing. From looking at your page, my guess is that you have the System - Cache plugin enabled. If so, you should make sure that is ordered last in the plugin group so that all the other plugins have done their work before it caches the output.

Hopefully that gets you going, but if not, or you need more help, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex:

I've attached a screen capture of the Joomla Extension Manager. The Joomla system cache was/is last.

Anything else that I should look at?

PS: FYI, we just upgraded to Joomla 3.3.1 after my initial message above.

Please go to the actual Plugin Manager area, not the general extension manager, and check the ordering in there. The only way to order the execution is in the actual plugin manager.

To be sure though, you can always disable the System - Cache plugin, temporarily, to see if that fixes the issue. If so, that guarantees it's an ordering problem.

After any changes you make, also be sure to clear the Joomla cache.

I hope that helps,
Alex

Alex:

The system cache was listed last in the plugins area and already disabled as per this attachment:

File Attachment:

I cleared JotCache plus the Joomla cache. However, after running the JFBC test again I still get the same error message as per my first message.

What next?

Thanks for the new picture. The first picture didn't show whether the System - Cache plugin was disabled or not.

Can you try disabling the JotCache plugin and testing to see if that fixes the problem? The error definitely seems to be a page caching issue, which JotCache can also do. We'll need to eliminate where the problem is coming from, and then we can go from there.

From your plugin manager image above, the JotCache plugin is listed last of cache plugins.. but also double check that it's the last in the whole system group.

Let me know if that helps, and we'll gladly keep helping until we get things going.

Thanks,
Alex

I totally disabled the Jotcache component and all cache plugins. I also cleared Joomla's cache yet the problem remains.

Then we'll likely need to access the admin area of your site to investigate further. In addition to the Javascript Facebook library not showing, the following tags are in your HTML:
<SCOpenGraphPlaceholder />
  <SourceCoastProviderJSPlaceholder />
Those tags are inserted by JFBConnect, but then removed later by our system plugin. For some reason, that's not happening on your home page.

On further investigation, I just tried going to the following page:
/en/community/groups/display?sort=alphabetical&categoryid=10
On that page, the Javascript library *is* being included correctly and the tags above are properly removed.

That could mean that
a) There is something specific about your home page that's different
b) The page above wasn't ever cached before, and so when I visited it, the caching plugins didn't prevent the proper execution of code

Not sure what it is, but that may help narrow things down. Beyond that, I'd have to ask for Super Admin credentials to your site so that we can investigate what's going on further. Again, it definitely looks exactly like a caching issue, which we deal with frequently around here.. but from your information, I'm not sure what it is that's causing it, since it sounds like you've disabled caching.

Thanks,
Alex

Sorry for the delay. I was just trying to diagnose the problem and ran into the following message:

Our system has automatically determined that you are a spammer, hacker or other such entity.

Can you remove whatever block was placed on us? I was trying to narrow down if it was a plugin issue, but it didn't seem that way. The next step will be to add some debugging code using FTP, but we'll obviously need to be able to see the site to test our changes.

The IP Address I'm at right now is 68.56.201.213.

Thanks,
Alex
