Hi,

I am trying to figure out my way around using the tool!

Can you help with the following:

1) Linkedin: I want to match LinkedIn details to fields on my website - how do I do this?
2) there is a sharing widget that has appeared on my website - where do I disable it?

Can you guide?

Thanks
Ajacks

JFBConnect can import lots of different profile information about users into many different profile extensions for Joomla. To set that up, go to the Plugin Manager and enable any "Social Profile" plugins for extensions you want to import data into. Then, in the JFBConnect -> Profiles area, you can configure how the data is imported.
JFBConnect supports the built-in User - Profile plugin for Joomla, as well as many other extensions like EasySocial, JomSocial, K2, Kunena, and others.

2) The "Social Toolbar" only shows to super admins of your site. Right now, there isn't a way to disable it without a minor code change. In the 6.1 release, late this month, there will be an option to completely disable the toolbar. If you really want to remove it now, just let me know, and I can point you to the code change you'd need to make in our files to remove it now.

I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks what you suggested worked out - my bad!

With regards to the Social Toolbar - it appears to all users on my site - in the bottom left corner! Is this active through your component - (please refer the attachment) But if you say that I can disable it in 6.1 then i'll wait for the same

Cheers,
Ajacks

Ajacks,
If all users can see it, it means the permissions are setup wrong. By default, the toolbar will only show to super admins.

To fix that now, please:
* Go to the JFBConnect admin home page.
* In the top right, click "Options"
* Make sure the "Post on Social Network" setting is "Not Allowed" for all users but your super admin group

That should fix you up for now, but if not, let us know. The 6.1 release should come out on Friday (if all goes well), but the above should implement the correct behavior for the toolbar until you can completely disable it, if you still want to.

Thanks,
Alex

If testing finishes up well today, as it's expected too, the v6.1 release will be out tomorrow. As always with new releases, please backup first and test things after you install to make sure things work as expected.

Thanks,
Alex
