Hi Alex...
We're attempting to upgrade Joomla 2.5.20 to 3.3.
We have JLinked (1.3) being used (beautifully i might add) for users to register to JomSocial (2.6).

I've asked Azrul whether to update JomSocial BEFORE going to Joomla 3, and they answered to do it AFTER going to Joomla 3.

Is this the same for upgrading JLinked too? ....

In other words, should I upgrade JLinked to JFBConnect BEFORE upgrading Joomla to 3, or AFTER?

(I just tried upgrading JLinked BEFORE going to J3, but upon upgrading Joomla, getting the blank screen in back & front end, turning error reporting to 'maximum' via ftp, I see a "Strict Standards: Declaration of JFBConnectProfileDataProxy::bindData()... components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/profile.php on line 111" error.

--- as well as a dozen similar errors for azrul stuff ... Strict Standards: Only variables should be assigned by reference plugins/system/azrul.system/azrul.system.php on line 52plugins/system/azrul.system/azrul.system.php)

Any help would be G R E A T L Y appreciated.
BTW: Amazing work you do - JLinked and JFBConnect absolutely rock the social world.

JFBConnect v6 has a Joomla 2.5/3.x compatible installer, which should work for both versions of Joomla. JLinked, when it was discontinued, still required separate installers for both.

With that said (even if it's technical mumbo-jumbo), what I'd recommend doing is:
* Backup!
* Install JFBConnect v6 on your Joomla 2.5 site.
* In the Configuration -> LinkedIn area, go through the migration steps for copying your settings, deleting your tables and uninstalling JLinked
At that point, you should be able to upgrade Joomla 2.5 -> 3.x. It won't hurt if you re-install JFBConnect again on the new site. The main things are that the database tables copy over when you do the upgrade or migration, depending on how you're actually moving to Joomla 3.x.

If you liked JLinked.. I think you're going to love JFBConnect :) There's a lot that's been improved in that over JLinked and the 6.1 release, due out in June, will simply continue to make it better :)

As per your instructions, I updated JFBC to v.6 and migrated JLinked while on Joomla 2.5, and also, contrary to JomSocial's instructions, updated Jomsocial BEFORE upgrading to Joomla 3.3. (thus avoiding all of the 'strict standards' errors ;-)

Glad to report all is well.
There's a minor issue, but i'll post a new topic in case others are experiencing same.

Awesome! Even though we test lots of upgrade flows, it's always something we worry about as we can test every possible scenario. I'm glad to hear it played out how it was supposed to.
