Hello,

We are using multiple profile types, by "Jomsocial Profile Types" from readybytes.net ( please visit www.readybytes.net/jomsocial-profile-type.html )

This allow us to choose a profile type before start registration. It works fine if user choose the standard jomsocial/joomla registration form. But when using JFBConnect this step is skipped.

I read in your documentation ( www.sourcecoast.com/joomla-facebook/jomsocial ) that you can assign Facebook (assume that google+ and twitter also) users to a specific type or even let them select it during registration (which is our case). Could you please, help us with this integration ?

Regards

Juanjo,
I'm very sorry for the delayed response.

Unfortunately, we don't have direct support for the JomSocial Profile Type extension. In the latest JFBConnect v6.0 release, we added a new system that will allow the user to use the original registration path of some extensions we support, like JomSocial. That's set using the "Registration Component" configuration setting in JFBConnect. That has been a great improvement and well received since it makes the user registration process 'standard' whether the user is registering through a social network (JFBConnect) or through Joomla/JomSocial.

We're planning to add support for more extensions so that the user can register using JFBConnect and use the registration flow of other extensions, like JomSocial Profile Types. The goal for JSPT is not until later this summer though.

From our users, we have heard that JSPT and JFBConnect do work together with the Automatic registration mode. After the user registers, you can redirect the user to their JSPT page to edit their profile and select what they want to use then. It's not perfect as that doesn't work for all users, but, again, we know that many sites do use that registration flow.

I hope that helps answer your question. If you need any more information, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Thanks for your reply. It's a shame that at the moment can not properly integrate these two systems. But we are glad to know that this is in your future plans and we think JFBConnect is a great product. We will try your suggestion of others user to combine with the automatic registration mode.

Kind regards,

Juanjo
