After installing JFBConnect today I am having a few issues getting the login to function. My website is www.planetzerogravity.com and the login module is on every page on the right sidebar:

1) I am only using the facebook and twitter functions. Twitter login seems to be doing what is expected, but when trying to login with facebook, nothing happens after clicking icon.

2) The 'forgot username' and 'forgot password' functions do nothing when clicked.

3) When trying different options from admin under 'configuration' 'general' 'normal registration', they do not seem to change anything on the front end. For instance under 'registration display mode' if I select 'register only' the login box still shows.

Thanks,
Stephan

1) I am only using the facebook and twitter functions. Twitter login seems to be doing what is expected, but when trying to login with facebook, nothing happens after clicking icon.

If you just created a new Facebook application, that would be the cause of this. Facebook released a big change on how new apps work, and we're implementing a fix right now. We're planning to have the updated release out later tonight, or by tomorrow at the latest.

2) The 'forgot username' and 'forgot password' functions do nothing when clicked.

I just tried these on your site by clicking the ? on the right of each input. I was properly brought to the following pages:
company/edit-login?view=remind
company/edit-login?view=reset
If you're still having this issue, can you tell me the browser you're using and/or try with a different one to see if the problem persists?

3) When trying different options from admin under 'configuration' 'general' 'normal registration', they do not seem to change anything on the front end. For instance under 'registration display mode' if I select 'register only' the login box still shows.

I just tried using Twitter to authenticate. I was brought to the registration page asking for my info as well as a Terms of Service approval (I think from JomSocial). There was no login portion on that page, other than the SCLogin module on the right, which seems correct... if you still have "Register Only" set.

If it wasn't working before, but is now, it may have been a caching issue of some sort. If you have any caching enabled, try disabling it while your testing/debugging to see if that makes a difference.

I hope that helps get you going, but if you have any questions or issues, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex, thanks for the reply. I have disabled the twitter login and want to force people to login with Facebook (as a security measure) and not be able to create a new account otherwise.

1) Is it possible to disable the 'register' button and only show the facebook login to do the above? Still need users to agree to terms and conditions though which is part of my joomla registration process.

2) I see now when I click on the facebook login that a new window is created but it doesn't show on screen. Using Firefox I see the new window created in my computer taskbar, but am unable to open or maximize it. This is not a new Facebook account either.

3) In both Firefox and Safari the forgot username and password functions do not work. However, if I am able to do #1 from above I should not need them anyhow.

Thanks,
Stephan

Stephan,
1) In the Joomla User Manager, you can go to the Options section and disable new user registrations. That will prevent Joomla registrations. However, users authenticating through social networks will still work with JFBConnect. This is a route that many sites take, and it definitely should work for you as well.

2) Can you try downloading and installing JFBConnect v6.0.6? It was just released a few hours ago. Once installed, please clear your browser cache and try to login again. Hopefully, this release will fix you up.

3) In Chrome (what I tested on earlier) it worked. Keep me posted on the first 2 items, and we'll gladly help investigate this issue if you still run into problems.

Thanks,
Alex
