Topic-icon User account totally wrong switching to facebook login

When A user have an account on my site and wants to change it to login via Facebook: instead

1.The user is logged into facebook
2. the user clicks on "login in with facebook"
3. The user gets a NEW account (WRONG) should be migrated with his existing account
4. The user get an email that says the account has been activated by an administrator (WRONG) the account is not activated or enabled

So the user is really confused...
Please advise, as this happens all the time..

JFBConnect has a setting for "Automatically link users by email". If the user's Facebook email address matches an existing Joomla account on your site, those accounts will automatically be linked together. If their email addresses are different, then what happens will depend on whether you have "Enable Automatic Registration" enabled:
* If enabled, a new account will be created for the user. There's *no way* for JFBConnect to know that this new user already has an account on your site.
* If disabled, the user will be brought to a Login or Register screen. On that page, they can choose to login to an existing account and have Facebook connected to that account *or* they can register a new account using Facebook.

4. The user get an email that says the account has been activated by an administrator (WRONG) the account is not activated or enabled

That's not an issue we've heard of before, but can gladly help investigate. Can you tell me:
* What 3rd party extensions you're integrating with (JomSocial, EasySocial, Community Builder, etc)
* How you have activation configured both in the Joomla User Manager and in the third party extension
* Do you know if the email is the standard Joomla "welcome" email, or is it an email from your profile extension (JomSocial, etc)?

HI

Automatically Link Users by Email is set to NO
So according to your workflow, something is wrong.

It doesnt ask for a login to merge accounts, it creates a totally new accounts, so the user now has a total blank account via FB, and his old account with all his images (its a photo site), has the nomal jomsocial login...

Can you tell me what the "Enable Automatic Registrations" setting is? Its the very first setting in the JFBConnect -> Configuration area. If that's set to "Yes", then the behavior you describe above is correct. It sounds like you want that to be 'No'.

Then what you describe is correct.

If you want the user to be brought to a page where they can choose to register a new account *or* login and associate their social network with an existing account, you should disable Automatic Registrations.
