Topic-icon Facebook Sharing : Description incorrect

Hi guys.
First time user.

When sharing content on the website, using the default "share" buttons... sometimes the description shown is wrong.
Example :
www.tributetopink.com.au/index.php/about-us/the-team
Joomla Category Blog layout
Sharing from this layout is correct except that it does not choose the first image in the article.
It shares the correct article data, etc.

But when clicking into an article (Example : www.tributetopink.com.au/index.php/2014-03-30-11-38-32/chris)
Joomla Article layout
Sharing from this layout is incorrect.
It shares the default Site Meta Description.

What have I done wrong?

You haven't done anything wrong. Its simply a caching issue on Facebook's end. When you add (or update) Open Graph tags, it can take Facebook a few days to see the changes.

Running your page through the Open Graph Debug Tool, below, you can see that the pictures are correct:
developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/o...-30-11-38-32%2Fchris
Additionally, that tool will immediately update their cache. Now, when I try to Like from the blog view or directly in the article, the right image shows.

Please feel free to test more, but hopefully just waiting (or running each page through that tool) is all that's necessary.

Thanks,
Alex

That's awesome. Thanks so much.

On a side note... is there a way to increase the default 10 word article text to more words?
Example :
File Attachment:

Increase to more than 10 words?

Glad to hear we could help explain and that things are moving along now.

As for the default description length, yes, it can be changed, but it takes a minor code change. The next release, v6.0.4, due out later today actually, will have that count increased from 10 to 50.. which should suit anybody's needs.

The other alternative is to create an Open Graph Object for your pages, where you can have more control of the count from the admin area, but ideally, our defaults work for 90% of people.. and with the update, that should be the case.

So, I'd just wait 24 hours and update, if that works for you.

Thanks,
Alex
