Hi Alex,
Please, creating a Facebook Page Channel

"The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission."

Means that the user has linked their social network account to their Joomla account. However, to post to the configured channel, additional permissions are required from this user. The user should login to the front-end using the selected provider and approve any additional permissions prompts.

Login in Front End with Facebook it ask me to confirm, but
- What are the public/friends etc. privacy settting (in red on the image I attach) ?
- What's its job ?
- What does it mean ?

ok i had fix it 2 min ago.
just set up your channel:
then save it.
the type and ...
then select the user. wright. then save again.
then go to your homepage of your site. be sure your not logd in the site.
you're now a guest.
then hit the facebook button to log in. the you get a facebook permission box popup. i think you know the box lik other apps install's permission.
when that's done. go to de back-end of your site. then setup channel. and now you can select your page or group.

Hi Kevlin,
many tanks for explanation. What I don't understand is:

- What is the public/friends etc. privacy settting (in red on the image I attach) ? -> Oooops I forgot the image, sorry! I attach it now
- What's its job ?
- What does it mean / its role into JFBConnect Channel feature ?

It really doesn't affect the Facebook Channel posts at all. There are 2 permissions required to be able to post to a Facebook Page or Facebook Group:
* manage_pages (or manage_groups) - This is what verifies you are a manager of a page/group and are allowed to post to it
* publish_actions - This is what allows the app (your site) to post on your behalf

The publish_actions permission also allows the app to post to your personal timeline.. and that's where the privacy setting comes in. When posting to your Pages / Group, that privacy permission doesn't matter since all posts are made as the 'admin', which are public.

I hope that helps answer your question,
Alex

Hi Alex,
really a very good explanation. So, during a channel creation (just to be sure I understood):

1 - If we are setting privacy permission giving the publish_actions permission to the APP (site) to post on "my" Pages / Group, that privacy permission doesn't matter since all posts are made as the 'admin', which are public. Facebook consider the APP as an admin Page / Group by default, so all messages posted on my Pages / Group from the APP (site) are public by default (vibile to all guests on Page / Group). And can be only public. Right ?

2 - If we are setting privacy permission giving the publish_actions permission to the APP (site) to post on "my" personal timeline that's where the privacy setting comes in and I have to be careful. It establish the vibility of the messages posted on my personal timeline. Right ?

You're correct. Of course, for your personal timeline, JFBConnect generally won't post to it unless you've either:
a) configured Open Graph actions to automatically post when users interact with your site
b) Have implemented JFBConnect code in your site to automatically post to a user's timeline.

I hope that helps,
Alex

When save again "manage_pages" permission" again, and again.

Can you explain what you mean by this? Are you seeing this in the administrator area or the front-end when you try to login?

Also, can you let me know when you created your Facebook Application? Was it after May 1st? If so, then there may be issues due to changes that Facebook made on May 1st. We're still investigating those changes, but knowing if your app is part of the change will help us narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex

If go to channel tab (backend), i see this message after my user name
' The selected user has not granted the "manage_pages" permission. Please have them login on the front-end of the site and accept the correct permission. '

I go to frontend, log in front end, i go to backend save again, and see again this message, and again, and again...
i create the FB app after 05.01.
my site user and my FB user use the same e-mail address, as I coin it is necessary, as I understand it?

i test, when i use other email for my site user, and connected my FB user, the message same

and i open my site later, open a popupp where the FB app request permission again. this is bad, i think. some thing not work.

I read all documents and tutorials, and i think i make all config good. Doesn't work properly.

cyberbanan,
We're investigating this and it's indeed related to the Graph API v2 changes. We should have a fix by tomorrow afternoon and will post the modified code that you need to make then.

Sorry for the inconvenience,
Alex
