Hi, I want to push content from my site to a user's newsfeed on facebook. For that my app needs to take open graph permissions (more specifically, publish_actions). Can you please help me to understand how I can add those? Currently my app just requests for standard information and it shows that the app cannot publish any information for the user.

In the Configuration -> Facebook section of JFBConnect there is a "Additional Permissions Request" box. In there, simply add publish_actions and that will request the permission from users when they login.

That's it! I hope that helps, but should you need anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thanks for that answer. It did help. The app now requests for the additional permissions required, but it still does not publish any activities on facebook. In fact the activity log in JFBConnect open graph shows error 200 ( could not retrieve data from the URL). I've attached some screenshots for the same.

Also, I was trying to publish other open graph features like read an article and though the action registers in the activity log, there are some error messages from facebook for all of them. I've attached the screenshot. Could you please take a look and explain why am I getting this error?

When I try to run the following page:

mygardenjuice.com/get-social/gardening-c...n-juice-potting-shed

through the Facebook Open Graph Debugger it reports that it's unable to scan your page. I'm not sure what's happening there, but it seems like something on your site/server is blocking requests from Facebook from scanning your page. Can you try running other pages (non-JomSocial specifically) to see if they are able to scan?

On that page, the description area is set to a bunch of CSS, which may be part of the problem as it may be confusing Facebook. I'm not sure if other groups are like that as well.

Either way, let us know if other pages can't scan as well and if you know of any firewall's or heavy restrictions on your site that may be blocking out automated requests from some bots.

Thanks,
Alex

Also, I get these errors alternately when I try to use the Read open graph feature. Can you also please look into this?

Can you tell me what version of JFBConnect you're using? Also, please post from the account you subscribed to JFBConnect from so that we can look up your Autotune history to diagnose the issue further. I'm not sure what's happening, but we'll gladly help get to the bottom of it.

Thanks,
Alex
