We'll be releasing JFBConnect v6.0.3 with some minor bug-fixes and improvements next week. That release will *not* have an option to disable the toolbar yet. We are expecting it in the 6.1 release which will be a few weeks after 6.0.3.

Sorry for the confusion in the releases mentioned above. We try to make as few feature changes as possible in the minor releases and save those only for the larger releases (6.1, 6.2).

We do have plans to improve the toolbar in a few different ways in the 6.1 release, and hope the minor code change to disable it isn't too annoying for the 6.0.3 (or 6.0.4 release, should one be required).

Thanks again for all the feedback, and best of luck,
Alex

* The Social Meta Tags let's you easily see the Open Graph tags that JFBConnect is setting for your site.
* The Create Post menu lets you post the current page to a Facebook Page or Group or Twitter Stream or LinkedIn Company profile.

If you'd like to disable, you can do so in the Permissions area of JFBConnect. Set the "Post on Social Network" option to "Denied" for whatever user groups you don't want it to display for.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

I want to disable that feature but I don't find "Permission area" in JFBConnect!! Where can I find it exactly?? (see screen shoot attached)

Sorry for the confusion. The permissions are set in the "Options" link in the top right. In there, you can set the user groups that have the "Post on Social Network" permission.

I hope that helps, but if you still have any questions, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

I just updated now.
But I couldn't deactivate the Social Meta Tag menu.
I think the option menu to deactivate doesn't work.

As noted above, the Options area will let you disable the Toolbar for all users except ones in the the Super Administrator group. Those users have to have all permissions enabled as it's a Joomla requirement.

To disable completely, please follow the instructions in this post above .

The JFBConnect v6.1 release will also have an option to disable the social toolbar entirely.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex

JFBConnect v6.1 hasn't been released yet. It's planned for late May. Until then, you'd need to use the small code change in this post to completely hide the bar for super admins.

I hope that helps answer your questions,
Alex

Hi

Until they add an option to remove this toolbar completely,
this could also be a temporary solution:

Just add this code in your template css file:

#social-toolbar {
visibility: hidden;
}

Yup, that works too. The code for the option is built-in to the 6.1 release already, along with a ton of other features and improvements. We're very excited to release it. Right now, it's planned for early/mid June.

If you have any other questions or feedback, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex
