JFB connect is installed and works, but the social icons do not always display. Sometimes, only the shortcode displays. Usually the icons are initially ok, but if you navigate around the site, go to a few pages, they start displaying incorrectly. If you refresh the page several times, they display correctly again.

site is www.gregscycles.com

Can you check if you have the System - Cache plugin enabled? If so, please ensure it's the last plugin in the list (highest ordering number). If it's in the wrong order, the page output can be cached before we replace those tags.

If that's not it, please try disabling all caching in the Joomla Global Configuration area, the JCH Optimize plugin, and any other optimization or caching extensions you may have enabled. Then, see if that fixes things. If so, start re-enabling them one-by-one to see which one is causing the issues.

Once we narrow things down, we'll gladly try to help fix the issue and make everything work well together.

Thanks,
Alex

The system cache is not enabled, but I do have JCH optimize. I disabled JCH Optimize and and the tags still display. I also disabled the cache settings in global config (they had been on).

I have a SEO extension from Ijoomla installed. That extension uses a plugin "ijseo_plugin". I just discovered that that plugin is the issue. When it is enabled, your icons are intermittent, but when it is disabled, your icons are solid. I have the entire site optimized using that extension, and cannot leave it turned off.

What to do?

Ahh.. nice catch. You'll have to contact them about this issue. They seem to already know about the problem and know of a fix. There is a thread below about a similar (or same) issue. The iJoomla devs were able to update their plugin to not do whatever it's doing:
www.sourcecoast.com/forums/jfbconnect/jf...uttons-inline#p40757

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else from us, just let me know.

Thanks,
Alex

After 5 days, the Ijoomla support ticket was finally assigned to someone. Just like the similar issue reported, they fixed problem and simply said " I made some changes in
"/public_html/plugins/content/ijseo_plugin/ijseo_plugin.php" file."

I wanted to know what they did, so I ran a file compare, and the only difference is that they removed this line:
jimport('joomla.environment.response');

I tried to determine what that line did, but it is above my pay grade. If anyone else has similar issues, that is the fix they did.

Very strange. That line should be pretty innocuous.. without knowing all the code in that file or what else that line may be triggering though, it's impossible for me to know what the problem was, or how that solves it.

Either way, I'm glad you got it going. Should anyone else run into this problem, we'll definitely refer them to this solution.

Thanks for the feedback, and should you need anything else, just let me know!
