Users having difficulty registering using Google Chrome was created by [email protected]

Hello, I'm using Version: 9.0.118.RC1 on joomla 3.10.0.

During the last few days we have had users say they have difficuty registering, or logging in using JFBConnect.

User had these errors. I myself have been able to login with JFBConnect.
The facebook app required a review, but no problems with the review. However login still doesnt ork and produces the same error.

Please advise.

I have also found that I get error

1062 Duplicate entry '22195' for key 'PRIMARY'

when logging out of the admin account to test it with a new user account.

I just tested on your site and was able to:
* Register with Facebook - My profile was imported as expected.
* Logout from the site.
* Log back in with Facebook.
This was all in the Chrome browser, for reference.

The 'Updating details of this app' may have resolved itself. Facebook periodically adjusts settings on apps and, during that brief period, users are unable to interact with them. Obviously keep an eye on it.

As for the Primary Key issue, if that happens every time you log out, I'd recommend setting the "Debug System" option in Joomla 'Yes' and set 'Error Reporting' to 'Maximum'. Then, logout again. That should provider more details as to the database table that is throwing that error, which should help narrow it down. I don't believe it will be from JFBConnect, but if it is, we'll gladly help diagnose and fix that issue as well.

Finally, we released JFBConnect v9.0 (final, not release candidate) yesterday along with Joomla 4's launch. It's still fully backward compatible with Joomla 3, and will be for some time. There aren't any major updates from the RC release and nothing that should affect the issues above, but always nice to be on the latest if you want to upgrade.

After registering an account with the normal register option I get the same error message - Session expired. Please try again later.

Any ideas?

There's definitely a lot of warnings there from other extensions. Most of them shouldn't be an issue (deprecation notices), but the warning for not being able to open a file from acymailing is a bit concerning.

I would recommend the following:
* Disable the "Regacymailing" system plugin which is trying to use a file which apparently doesn't exist. It says 'Reg' too, which may indicate it's doing something on registration or login, which is where you're having issues.
* Next would be to disable any caching features you have enabled to test without them. Caching can be in the Global Configuration area, the System - Cache plugin or some 3rd party 'optimization' extensions.

Once you've disabled the above, test thoroughly to see if the issue is resolved and let us know. You shouldn't need to keep everything disabled permanently, but we need to run the checks above to narrow down the possible cause of your issue.

Hi,

I have deactivated regacymailing, and caching. On registering a user I get the same session expired message.

I suspect the deprecation issue is due to being on an earlier version of centos, but bug reporting revealed this -

Sorry for the delayed response.

The notices & warnings above are all from com_community, which is JomSocial.

When you're experiencing the session expired issue, is the user interacting with JFBConnect at the time? Which social network are they logging in when they see it? Is this a new registration or logging into an existing account?

If they aren't authenticating with JFBConnect, then it's likely not a JFBConnect issue. If they are, I'd recommend disabling some JomSocial plugins and feature that may be integrating with registration or login as well to see if those are somehow throwing the errors that you're experiencing.

You shouldn't need to leave them disabled permanently, but again, we're just trying to narrow down the issue right now.
