Topic-icon Does this mean I can only try this on a live production site not a sta

I purchased and installed it on my staging1 website staging1.homehighschoolhelp.com/
I created the app in my FB
However when I run Autotune it says its testing from my production site
JFBConnect Remote Error Check
Checks performed on: homehighschoolhelp.com/

Does this mean I can only try this on a live production site not a staging or dev site?

How can I post a private or secure post that the public doesnt see?

You can Private Message us with by using the mail icon under my picture to the left.

As to your question, JFBConnect should test whatever site you're running the test from. If it's trying to test your production site, that means that Joomla is reporting its URL that way. You may want to check the live_site variable in the Global Configuration area (or configuration.php file).

Finally, I just manually checked the staging site you posted above for the same errors the Error Checker tool would look for and there are no problems on the page regarding JFBConnect.

I hope that helps get you going, but if you need anything else, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Thank you Alex your correct I did not have live site filled out.

I have an odd scenario where the FB share button does not show only on Articles it shows on the Easyblog pages and home page but not Articles

staging1.homehighschoolhelp.com/normal-family-big-scholarships

I tried troubleshooting with inspect but inspect does not allow any editing of the JFB css files either?

Thank you

No problem. Normally, you don't have to fill out the live site variable. It just takes the domain name for the site, but there are sometimes where Joomla or JFBConnect can't properly determine the name.. or something else is setting it to the 'real' site URL. Either way, I'm glad you got that sorted.

The issue for the share button is being caused by a module or plugin with a name like "cballinonesocialcommentsembed" (that's the class name it's adding). That plugin or module seems to be adding the FB comment box, which JFBConnect can automatically add to your content too. The issue is that it's including the now 5 year old Facebook Javascript library which conflicts with Facebook's newer library. If you look at the HTML on the page and search for "all.js" you'll see the block of Javascript that needs to be removed.

I hope that helps,
Alex

I'm glad it sounds like your issues are resolved; I also see the comments loading on your site properly. If you continue to have any other problems, please let us know.
