hi, I installed jfb connect and configured everything. I have set up the automatic registration and I have prefixed "first.last" and here start my problem. Once logged in or with facebook or with linkedin or with google or twitter I enter my easysocial site and everything is ok. But if I click on my name to enter my profile the error page 404 is displayed. Looking at the alias of the url in fact it is not for example "vincenzo-di-cicco" but "vincenzodi-cicco". But I don't know if that's the problem. If instead I change the setting to "firlast" when I want to log in with my social media leads me to the registration form and the error is displayed: Please enter a valid username. No spaces, at least 2 characters and must contain the following characters: <> "%; () &. In the other two options (email and fb_) it works well and I can access my profile page but I don't like it because in the url you see the email or fb_eccecc. and it's not good for the SEO. Finally, if I go into the easysocial settings and activated the option insert user id in the url works fine also with primo.ultimo but obviously the id in the url and I would like to avoid this.

You noted:

Is that correct that those special characters *must* be in the username? If so, that would explain why first.last works (alex.andreae) but firlas (aleand) does not.. it's missing the period.

As for the 404 error page, can you tell me:
* What the username that JFBConnect creates is
* What the URL that generates the 404 error is
* What you expect the URL to be
* Are you using any SEF extensions on your site, or just enabling SEF URLs in the Joomla Global Configuration area
You don't have to include the domain, just the path to the profile page.

Finally, if you go to the profile URL you expect to work (vincendozi-cicco), does that work?

I'm unsure what's going on, but we'll gladly help however we can.

The username created by jfb connect is vincenzo.di cicco. The url that generates the error is vincenzodi-cicco. The url that works is vincenzo-di-cicco. I was using a SEF extension but I turned it off. Everything is resolved if I add the user id in the easysocial link

Can you try registering an account in EasySocial through the normal registration flow and select a username with a similar format, like "john.smith person"? If EasySocial allows that username to be created and the URL fails, then that is a problem with EasySocial.

With that said, I don't think a space is valid in the username. The surname of "Di Cicco" should probably be fixed by JFBConnect to replace spaces by a dash (-) or underscore (_) to prevent the problem from happening.

Please test the above and let us know. We can easily update JFBConnect to fix spaces in usernames if that's the problem.
