I'm sorry for the issue you're running into. We've had very limited reports of the get() error on installation, and haven't been able to narrow down a cause. Can you please let us know:
* Your Joomla version
* Your PHP version
* Your database type (MySql or Postgres)

We're trying to recreate the problem, but have been unable too and the limited number of users (about 2-3 over 5 months) haven't provided many extra details to help us investigate.

One thing we've been told works is to unzip the package to your local system and then use the "Install From Directory" option to install.

As for the tables, you're correct, we do not remove those on uninstallation. That allows users to upgrade at any time. If we removed the tables, your settings, mappings between users and social accounts and all other settings would be removed. While that may be correct in your case, since you ran into an error, in normal circumstances, that would be bad.

Thanks,
Alex

Hallo.

Thanks for the fast response.
It is Joomla 3.9.4, PHP 7.3.2 and mysql 5.6.38.
I try to install it (over the already installed one) out of a webservers directory, with the same error occuring.
I am not sure now what to do, if it is safe to leave it like this and work with it. I am fear to loose the work i do with it.

If you have more tips how to go ahead to solve, i am ready to help tracking it down.

Best regards

Thank you very much for the error log you provided! It seems like the error is happening in the actionlog plugin, which is new in Joomla 3.9, and the error occurs when one of our really old modules or plugins are uninstalled. We're still investigating as we can't recreate it (yet), but you've really helped us narrow down where to look.

For background... Long ago, JFBConnect had a lot of individual modules for thinks like Facebook Like, Facebook Fan, Facebook Recommendations, etc. Additionally, we had individual update servers URLs for each of our modules and plugins. In our install script, we try to remove a lot of these old extensions that are no longer used. That process, eventually, gets to the action log plugin, if enabled, which seems to throw out that "Error get() on undefined" message.

Again, we can't recreate it, but we can see where the code goes to that line. We're just unsure why, sometimes, that error is thrown.

I'd recommend, temporarily, disabling the Action Log - Joomla plugin and then reinstall. That should have no errors.. and would also confirm our suspicions.

In investigating, and from previous user reporting, using JFBConnect after that error doesn't have problems. It's pretty much the last step we take to clean things up, so everything is installed and configured at that point.. but obviously, a big error like that is scary.

Please test with the actionlog plugin disabled and let us know how that goes and, once again, thank you so much for that log!!

Alex

Yes. That did the trick. With the activity log plugin disabled i got a success message after installing JFBConnect.

Thanks so much to point me and figure that out. Now i can get foreward and do my settings/learning curve to use it for my needs.

Further i hope you can track it to a reproducable error and set your fix.

Have a good day !

Thanks for sending your error log. It absolutely made the difference; we think we've finally tracked down the bug and should have it fixed for the next release :) Thank you for your help.
