Hi,

I followed the Facebook setup guide, but in App Review, I have one block that the guide didn't mention to "Submit Item for Approval". When I click on the "Start a Submission" button, there are lots of options there. I'm not sure what will be needed for JFBConnect to work. Please see screen shots attached.

The review process can definitely be daunting. It's difficult for us to give specific information on how the app review process needs to be filled out. It requires screenshots from your site, descriptions of why you want to request the information from the user and other details that are specific to your site. We can only give advice, but can't provide specifics on how to do it.

The latest release of JFBConnect has some tools to help with the scope review process. There's more information in our App Review Explained blog post. Please check that out to see if helps you get started.

I hope that helps, but if you need anything else, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

I forgot to mention, in addition to the blog post explaining the new App Scope features, we have a full App Review Guide .

Definitely let us know if you need help or further assistance.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much for your reply.

I did find the info. It's a little confusing because of the different terms used that are not on the Facebook App Review page.

I guess, what I need to know now, is what do I really need for FBConnect to work. I only want Facebook login, commenting from articles (including liking/reacting to posts), sharing (button) and liking our page..

From what Facebook already offer, email and default (access to a person's name and profile picture) which I think is enough for Facebook Login, I'm not sure if there's anything else needed.

The problem is that after following the guide completely, the Facebook Login app still shows a gray check mark with a link saying to "Finish Setup".

When I click on the "Finish Setup" link, it starts the Quick Setup process.. If I go through the entire process, following the guide again, I end up at the same place as before with grayed out check mark with the "Finish Setup" link still there. Any idea how to get pass this?

The only thing above that *could* require any scopes is login. Likes, comments and sharing does not require your app to have any permissions from the user.

For Facebook Login, the only reason you'd need to request additional scope is if you're using a profile integration plugin for pulling in additional profile information. You can check the 'Profiles' tab in JFBConnect to see if you have additional profile information imported.

The "Scope Review" area of JFBConnect will show what extra permissions JFBConnect may be configured to use. However, Facebook Login can still be setup and used even if you never go through the app review process. If you fail to go through the process, JFBConnect will just used the more limited default set of permissions.

I don't know why the Facebook Login text is greyed out, but it is *not* because of the App Review process. There must be something else in the setup that isn't configured (or isn't configured correctly) that's preventing Facebook from allowing login. Try going into the Setup (not Quickstart area) and see if there are any warnings there. If not, try authenticating with a user on the front-end and let us know any warning or error messages that are displayed.

Thanks,
Alex
