Thanks - we start to make progress!I have started the submission process, and completed the details for user_managed _pages,
However, Facebook now requires I also submit for App Verification at the same time. Can you help explain what I am supposed to put in for the App Verification review?

We're going down the rabbit hole here... It seems the App Verification box is checked green, until you fill in details about the user_managed_groups field.. then it adds that "Page for Testing" prompt, which I think is an error. I didn't notice that in my testing yesterday.

First off, instead of user_managed_groups, they just added a new permission "Groups API" that you should be submitting instead, per this footnote:
developers.facebook.com/docs/facebook-lo...-user_managed_groups

Even when you request that permission though, you'll still be asked to provide a Page.. which doesn't seem necessary.

I've submitted a bug on your behalf about this. Facebook is inundated with support right now.. they're responsive, but not as quick to actually fix things. Here's the report for your app:
developers.facebook.com/bugs/166049687403115/

The other option is to actually add a Page Tab to your Facebook Page. JFBConnect should automatically setup the Page Tab info, so you just need to add the Tab to any Page you administer. Then, you can fix that setting in the review and hopefully proceed. To add the Page, go to the Page Tab/Canvas admin section in JFBConnect. At the top of the Page Tab section, you should see:

Your Page Tab application appears to be setup properly. To add it to your Facebook Page, Click Here.

Use that click here link, add the Page Tab, submit the review. Then, you can likely just remove the Tab from your Page since it's not really needed.

Whew... good luck! :)

Thanks again for the detail. I created a Page Tab as you suggested to try and make this process work. I see Facebook closed your bug report without any action, which I guess is no great surprise.
I submitted for Review 2 days ago, but as yet no progress. Thanks so much for persevering with this, and your great support so far, but this post is also a warning to others - my Facebook channels have now been down 2 weeks so beware of these changes!

Giles,
Definitely keep us posted on how the review goes. Yes, they closed my bug report which is annoying.. their reasoning was pretty much "I see you add a Page Tab, so you must be all good..." though that's beside the point.

Either way, I do hope things go smoothly from here and I do apologize for the inconvenience.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alzander,
I have had no reply as such from Facebook on the App Review, but I see this in the Developer Console.
Does this mean the submission has failed, or not yet been approved? If failed, where do I find out why?
Thanks
Giles

From the looks of it, you weren't approved. I'd either:
* Ask a question - Ask why it wasn't approved
* Resubmit but *only* submit the Groups API. The user_managed_groups permission should no longer be submitted for review per their docs. If there's any other details you think may help them, certainly submit them, but not sure what is wrong with the submission based on the details above...

I know this is ugly.. Facebook just released a new raft of changes (unrelated to your issue). We're working through a bunch of minor updates now and planning an updated JFBConnect release over the next few weeks which should make compatibility better, but it's a game of cat and mouse right now..

Thanks,
Alex
