Topic-icon Not posting to My Facebook and Twitter Channel after Joomla 3.8.1 Upda

I am using Joomla 3.8.1 and JFBConnect 7.2.2 and when I publish a new blog post my Facebook page and Twitter feed does not get updated.

I post a new blog bost about once a week and it worked last week but at that point I was using Joomla 3.7.5.

Looking at the history of the Channels it doesn't list any attempt today of trying to post to my Twitter and Facebook pages.

What is the best way to fix this issue or figure out what went wrong? I haven't changed any JFBConnect config settings and everything is enabled.

Thanks

Tom

Re-authenticate with both Twitter and Facebook on the front-end for the user that the channel is setup for. That should refresh the authentication tokens for those accounts.

Beyond that, try using the "Create Post" button from the front-end toolbar on an article. When you post from the front-end, you may see additional error details that could explain why the posting failed.

Finally, make sure you're using the latest version of JFBConnect, which is 7.2.2

Let me know if that helps. If not, we'll gladly help investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

I always post form the backend. I did just logn into the front end using my Facebook account. Do I need to do the same with the Twitter account to fix the issue (hopefully)?

I don't have a new article to post until next week so I have nothing to test with at the moment (since it is a live site)

If you open the channel in the backend, there should be an error if the token has expired. If you see an error for that, then yes please do log in from the front-end with the social buttons.

From the channel edit area, you should also be able to see test stream data that was pulled from your FB profile and Twitter feed. If you aren't seeing anything there and there are recent posts in your feeds, this is a quick way to know if there's a problem with the communication.

Additionally, you should be able to look at the history/activity tab in the JFBConnect backend > Channels area to see if there are any error messages that indicate the autopost problem.

I know you said that you post from the backend, but have you tried manually posting anything from the front-end? Does this work?

No error opening the channels (Facebook and Twitter) on the backend.

I see the stream test data. For Twitter I just tweeted something on Twitter and I went back to the Stream Test (I logged in and out again from my site) and did not see my new tweet (not sure if Stream Test just shows Tweets that JFBConnect is responsible for).

In the history it reports my previous blog posts being autoposted but not the last blog post.

I have yet to post anything from the front end.

I just did another back end test blog post. It didn't get posted to my feeds but I do now see my Twitter tweet I mentioned in the previous post so the Stream Test seems to be working.

I just did a front end with a test blog post. No luck either. When the articles saves now it is rather quick. I know before when I saved the articles that where published for the blog they took a little bit longer as I assume it was because JFBConnect was also posting to my Facebook page and Twitter feed.

In JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General, please set the 'Cache Duration' to 0. It's probably just cached and hasn't tried to pull the latest posts yet.

I just did a front end with a test blog post. No luck either.

In the JFBConnect backend > Channels > History, can you take a screenshot of the entries listed here and post to the thread?
