Hey there,
Hopefully, you're tucked away nice and safe with your familes and your homes weather Irma.

I'm writing because I need a separate link or module that allows for business owners (other profile type is regular member) to register on the site using fields that are the same in a component called CMLiveDeals. The developer of that component says that any custom fields could autopopulate fields of the same name in his component as long as JFBC registration supports Joomla's user plugin.

Don't know exactly what that means, but does it?

Thanks
Peter

JFBConnect supports the Joomla User Plugin natively. To enable that support, simply enable the Profiles - Joomla User (I think that's the name) and you can configure how fields are imported in the same Profiles area you're used too.

On that note though, the User - Profile plugin with Joomla was the main profile system for Joomla 3.0 through 3.6. It's still used in 3.7, but there's now a new custom fields ability in Joomla that you can use to add any type of field to the user registration flow. We don't currently support the new custom fields yet, and it sounds like the other extension you mention may not yet either, but wanted to call out that there's a better way (it seems) built-in to Joomla for custom fields going forward that you may want to investigate as well.. unless you're using 3rd party extensions for profile management.. which it seems like you are :)

Hope that's not too confusing and at least answers you main question!

Thanks,
Alex

Not confusing and I don't completely understand it. ;-) But helpful to know. Will discuss with my developer and see what we can figure out. You answered the basic question.

Thanks.

Alex,
Took a look at the User Plugin and at last I found a way edit fields that were showing up here: ostlive.com/goodtalktnt/partner-registration
which is a different registration issue than what I was asking here. Here i'm trying to have only business users register with their own separate business profile, but I didn't want all of the fields and I'd like to move Captcha to the end. I don't want social login buttons present. I was able to turn off a bunch of fields by disabling them. Still can't move the Captcha field though.

So thanks.

Clarification needed though. You say above "To enable that support, simply enable the Profiles - Joomla User (I think that's the name) and you can configure how fields are imported in the same Profiles area you're used too. " It was enabled and I can merely disable or make fields required/optional.
Can you be more specific about where this Profiles area is so I can configure fields to be imported? I'm actually not used to doing this at all. Is this the area here screencast.com/t/qAdHnprcz
or is there some other area that I can configure profile fields.

Thanks
