Hi all,
I have just installed JFBC on an existing site www.d-oneassociation.org/ and am having issues understanding how I keep the channel open so the Social Stream module always displays data to all users.
I have set up three channels linking Facebook groups into a Social Stream module. The user is an existing website user (me, as admin), and all works fine when I am logged in to everything. Logging out of Joomla seems to be OK, which I would expect.
But...if I log out of Facebook or just leave it inactive, then the channels stop working with the error:
Facebook API Error: Error validating access token: This may be because the user logged out or may be due to a system error.
Can you help explain how I am supposed to set this up?
Thanks
Giles

Giles,
I'm sorry for the trouble. This is an issue we're aware of and working on a release for now. The update should be available by the middle of next week (hopefully sooner).

I hope you can wait a few days, but if not, let me know. We should be able to provide you with some code that should get things going for you sooner if you need something now.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex - thanks for the prompt reply, and at the weekend.
Since this is a live site it would be great if you can provide some code to past in. Otherwise I will have to revert to my previous Facebook feed extension, which is embarassing and yours offers much more functionality.
Then I will apply the new release when it is ready.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Giles

We're glad to hear you got that going. We're nearing the final stages of testing for the new release. This fix is definitely included along with some other compatibility updates, features and bug-fixes.

If you run into anything else, or have any other suggestions or feedback, please let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
