Topic-icon JFBConnect Google Login appears to connect users but doesn't

Hi,

In the process of trying to replace LoginRadius, we are experiencing an unexpected behavior from the google button (have not tested any other button). We have placed the module in the Maintop position for testing only (can't get it where we want it at the moment):

File Attachment:

When we click the Google button, it properly takes us to the select account page.

File Attachment:

It properly informs us that our site wants to view your email address.
After we click Allow, we get an error message that states:

This page isn’t working

www.elitesportz.org is currently unable to handle this request.
HTTP ERROR 500

The info in the web bar is:
www.elitesportz.org/index.php?option=com...jaBva1U_cnm509HLR1o#

What's interesting is that the code listed above does not match the code that we have in our OAuth 2.0 client ID, which is identical to what we have listed in JFBconnect Google ID.

Anyone have an idea of how to resolve this. Didn't really know how to classify the issue as a topic, so I appologize if this has already been touched on.

Thanks.
Mack

Could you try disabling any SEF or any firewalls that you have enabled to see if there's any improvement? Can you also double-check that your Google application matches the redirect URI settings in our Google application setup guide ?

Hi Melissa,

Our SEF and firewall have been disabled, with no change in status. We used the Google setup guide to setup our google application as follows:

www.elitesportz.org/index.php?option=com...back&provider=google
www.elitesportz.org/index.php?option=com...back&provider=google
elitesportz.org/index.php?option=com_jfb...back&provider=google
elitesportz.org/index.php?option=com_jfb...back&provider=google

No success.

Thanks.

Can you disable your mod_socialloginandshare module? I'm not sure if that's the cause, but it looks like there's some other extension on your site that's looking for a response from Google and breaking things.

If you have any other social network authentication extensions, even if that functionality isn't enabled, please try disabling them to see if that makes things work properly.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

I tried that to no avail. When I disable the mod_socialloginandshare module, I get a message on the front-end stating to enable the Social Login module. However, no luck with getting this to work. It does not change the behavior.

I have gone through and disable all social modules relating to authentication. I do agree that there is obviously a conflict somewhere. Can't get me finger on it.

Thanks.

It's not JFBConnect as far as we can tell. Just going to your home page with the following URL will cause the error:
/index.php?provider=google&state=654d152ddb1321b3bd1cb5a43241652a&code=4/vzTQPghfA3tpl5MIDgJOFziTxVnXM3zYKgvHrVp0W50#

JFBConnect shouldn't ever try to parse that URL, which makes us think something else is.

Can you try disabling the JFBConnect authentication, system and user plugins? If the home page with the URL above still fails, it definitely indicates some other extension is trying to process the Google login. If it starts to work then, let us know and, if you can send us admin credentials by Private Message, we can investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

If I disable the "System - Social Login And Social Share" plugin, the Google authentication works. I'm not sure what that plugin is for, so I left it enabled, but that's the problem.

I hope that helps you narrow things down.

Thanks,
Alex
