Hi,

I tried to post an article in front end to Facebook & LinkedIn. Did 3 times --> no luck
All goes well until I select the 2 channels and then post ... and then got an empty windows with just "Close" ... instead of a confirmation message if i remember well

Note to help debug:
- I am a returning customer after 6 months : it was working before, I updated to latest version 7.1.2 and these are my first social post again
- social login is working, so likely no channel error
- did the integretted automatic setup again ; no error is displayed .... all green
- I upgraded normally directly to 7.1.1. and after to latest 7.1.2. I tried also to install over the previous again --> same
- latest joomla version & latest jfbconnect
- the history tab is empty (never seen that before ; maybe was added in the meantime, since my last successful posts).

Any help would be appreciated
Fabrice

There have been some changes to the posting in these past versions, so it's possible there's a bug. Can you start with these questions so we can hopefully narrow down the issue?

* Do you have any of our Open Graph plugins enabled?
* If so, which ones?
* If not, could you try enabling the appropriate one for the extension that you're posting from for the front-end? Does this have any effect?
* Is SEF enabled or disabled? Could you try toggling it to see if there's a change in behavior?
* Can you enable Debugging in JFBConnect > Configuration > General area and turn on Error Reporting in the Joomla global configuration area? Does this add an error to the popup or are there any errors on the page or in the Javascript console in your browser?

Hi Melissa,
Short answer is no, nothing

Détails
- with opengraph - custom object plugin: disabled or not --> same result
- with opengraph - content plugin disabled: the preview rating when from A to C ... i did not make that send test further in this case
- with SEF disabled (in Joomla and/or in sh404sef) --> same result
- with both error reporting, so as Firefox consol --> no particular error
- desactivated the browser tracking protection to have fb or li tracking --> same

I appreciate your frankness ("a possible bug") ... but ... be in my place: i return (& pay - for only 6 months updates only ) to have the latest version ... and what was working is not anymore...

Some help please

I understand your frustration. In our testing we haven't come across this and other users have said that manual posting is working fine for them in this version, hence the questions on your configuration.

I definitely would like to help you resolve this and figure out what the issue is. Could you 1) let me know the specific URL you are at when trying to perform the manual post and 2) send me a private message with your admin credentials 3) if you're willing, could you also provide FTP credentials - if I can't narrow down the steps through looking at your configuration in the backend, this might be the next step to debug the code since there are no warning/error messages that can pinpoint the issue.

There's nothing glaringly wrong that I see with your configuration. Can you send FTP credentials as well? I need to step through code to see what's happening at this point.

Thanks for the credentials. We traced this to SH404 routing for our URLs. I changed the SH404 setting for JFBConnect's router and was able to post properly. No code changes were needed.
