Send New User Email was created by MikeTT
Hi guys,
did a bunch of searching for the answer but can't find it.
Am using JFB Connect Version: 7.0.3 with JomSocial 4.3.4 and Joomla 3.6.2.

I want to enable Automatic Registration but also send new user email.
I have both set to Yes but the new user emails are not being sent. Other messages do send from the website.
I have checked my spam folder and have all filters turned off.

In Joomla Users options I have Allow User Registration turned on and New User Account Activation turned off (because I want registration to be automatic).

Is there some way to get the emails sent?
Thanks,
Mike

Just for sanity, could you check the two following things:

1. In the JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General tab, is the 'Send New User Email' option set to Yes.
2. In JomSocial backend > Monitor > Mail Queue, are there any pending items for the new users?

Hi Mel,
yes the Send New User Email is turned on.
No pending issues for the new members.

Any help you could offer would be great.

Could you PM me backend credentials? You can use the envelope icon under my avatar.

I just wanted to verify that I could reproduce the behavior that you're reporting. However, I just created a user on your site with my Facebook credentials and received the new user email.

Hello Melissa Lynne SourceCoast,
Thank you for registering at BuyPostSell.com.
You may now log in to buypostsell.com/ using your facebook credentials.

I'm just not seeing the behavior that you're describing. Please make sure you're attempting to log in 1) with a user that does not already have a FB user mapped to an existing account and 2) does not share an email address with an existing user on your site. If this is true, then you will need to provide detailed step-by-step instructions on how to reproduce on your site.

Hi Mel,
thanks for checking that. The problem is with a normal registration process, I hadn't checked the FB login because I thought they were the same.
So when a new user registers by entering a user name and password they don't get an email confirmation.

But you just made me realize... is the normal registration not handled through JFB Connect?

If that is true then the problem is with JomSocial and not JFB Connect?

Yes, the registration for normal Joomla credentials is done through JomSocial. If you click on your Register button, it goes to "buypostsell.com/component/community/register" which is com_community component (JomSocial) and the register view. Even if you do use our SCLogin module somewhere else on your site to attempt to register, we'd still redirect to the extension set with the 'Registration Component' parameter.

Glad that helped point you in the right direction, even if it took me a while to get there :) Let us know if you run into any issues with JFBConnect going forward.
