Cache issue was created by kymo42
Hi

I cannot clear my cache in J 3x, even with a cache cleaner - or deleting the folder.

Have made adjustments to my template ( Socialize ) - have had a ticket with the Jomsocial people for the issue, and their solution is to post issue here, as they believe that is what may be causing the issue.

Upon disabling one of your Modules, the cache issue did move forward momentarily, so any input you have regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

As a test, instead of disabling the module, could you try disabling the system, authentication and user plugins for JFBConnect? Does this have any effect or is the improvement just related to the specific module? Which module did you disable? What specific version of Joomla are you using?

Hi

Joomla 3.6.2.

I tried what you suggested, but still no change.

Originally it was the share module being disabled in the bottom right hand corner, that allowed me to see the new .PHP file data, which is why I contacted you guy's.

Is their a way to see what and why cache is being retained, or what would normally cause this type of issue ?

Can you explain a lot more about what the issue actually is? When you say you can't clear the cache, what does that mean? Does it just show up in the Cache Manager area that some extensions have cached data or is something on your site not updating properly?

If all else fails, disable caching in the Global Configuration area and set the cache timeout to '1'. That should disable cache, but for extensions that use their own caching, the 1 should make them only cache for a minute.

Hopefully that helps, but if not, please explain in more detail about what is happening on your site so we understand better.

Thanks,
Alex
