The only way that the new user can select the profile type on registration is if you select the JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General > 'Registration Component' option to EasySocial. The user can then authenticate with their social credentials with the JFBConnect buttons and we'll pass the profile data to the EasySocial registration flow.
You'll still want to enable the 'Social Profiles - EasySocial' plugin. Then in the JFBConnect backend > Profiles > EasySocial tab, you can map which social data is imported into EasySocial. Please note that the 'Default Profile Type' in this Profiles area allows you to set the profile type to something other than default, but it's not configurable by the user, so doesn't quite suit your needs.
I hope this helps, but let us know if you need further help.
