Topic-icon SOLVED - SCLogin module error with jomsocial (registration page only)

Support Specialist
We are still investigating but having difficulty recreating this on a test system of ours. We'll keep trying and have a couple different configuration options that may make it happen. It's strange that it's only on the Registration page though.

Re - On a final note - Yes I have disabled them in Jomsocial as it was not the layout the cliaent wanted so I had to create a seperate module to call/display the social icons in which the client wanted to display them

Since this is on the Registration page itself, do you actually want the login form itself? Not trying to skirt the issue, but a few other options you may want to consider:
* In the SCLogin, disable the Login form altogether. Personally, I think it's confusing that there's a login form on the same page as the beginning of the registration flow
* If the client didn't like the layout, you can always add the social login buttons individually with a little HTML or our Easy-Tag, like {JFBCLogin}
You can add that anywhere in the JomSocial registration template files so that you have full control of things. For the HTML option, you can use any image or text you want, it just needs to call jfbc.login.provider('facebook') or whatever social network you are letting the user login to. We can help with more details on how to do either of those options if you need.

We're looking to have an answer to you about the login page by the end of this week, so you know, but it really depends on our ability to recreate the problem.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex

I agree - But the client wants a login form on the registration page so not an option

I have already created a custom module including the easy tag - {JFBCLogin} for social login

I think I may have found a work around though by adding the jomsocial 'Hello Me' module to the registration page instead of the SCLogin module or the joomlal ogin module
System allows login with the hello me module

Unless you advise that this may cause any profile association type conflicts I think I will stick with this.

Only issues I have with this is that, Unlike the SCLogin module, there is no option to hide/disable the register button (WIll post in jomsocial to find a fix for this unless you can advise?)
And
Removing the icons on each of the username/password boxes
nimb.ws/MNrK8w
Again will post in Jomsocial support unless you can advise

HI
I shall marked this as solved even though the initial issue is not fixed as I found the above actions enabled me to have a jomsocial login and registration on same page without errors
Jomsocial also provided info on editing the layout of the Hello me module Hello Me here

Thank you for your time spent investigating

Regards

Iain
