Using the Social Meta button, I noticed that the K2 Plugin is setting the title, text, image correctly. However, it also says a 3rd Party Extension is removing the tags. The result is that Preview says the default website title, description, image is used instead of the K2 Item information.

Twitter seems to work though.

I'm unsure what you mean, actually. Can you give use the exact error message you're seeing about a 3rd party extension and a page where we can see the problem? This is not something we've seen or heard of before, but will gladly help investigate.

Thanks,
Alex

I signed on as the superuser. I toolbar shows up. I clicked on "Social Meta". The "Inserted" shows:

Inserted Tag Value Origin
og:title The Real Reason Why Christians Are Sick Open Graph - K2 Plugin
og:description In this ebook, Gordon Lindsay shares insights on why Christians are sick and how they may get well. You will discover: Sickness Versus Health and Prosperity Should Christians Be Sick? og:type article Auto-generated

Which is the correct K2 information.

When I click on Share in FB, G+, Linkedin I get incorrect information. The "Preview" button shows:

socialdebug.com/results?url=http%3A%2F%2...ans-are-sick-lindsay

The K2 information is removed and replaced by the website default information.

The problem is that the URL you are trying to test with requires the user to be logged in to view. Facebook scans your page periodically, just like a search engine. Since they won't be logged in when they view K2 item, Joomla will redirect them to the login page and the tags from that page will be used.

There's nothing we can do about this as Facebook will follow redirects when you try to share content. They are intentionally trying to make the content you share less restricted so that a user doesn't need to authenticate to view it.

I hope that helps explain. The only recommendation I can give is to test with content that is viewable by guests and loosen restrictions on content you want shared as well

Thanks,
Alex
