Testing out the integration with EasySocial & JFBC Connect and am having some redirect issues on registration. I've tried many setting combos but can't seem to dial it in. Can you help guide me through the settings setup between components? Is there a setup guide that shows step-by-step which I may have missed?

ES 1.4.9

For JFBConnect, the options are in two different places for our redirection settings
* If you're registering via a social network user, you will find the redirection settings in JFBConnect backend > Configuration > General section for new and returning user redirection using the social network only. These settings will be used whenever you use the social login buttons through JFBConnect and SCLogin, easy-tags, etc.
* If you're using the SCLogin to log in via Joomla credentials, then we have the "Joomla Login Redirection URL" and "Joomla Logout Redirection URL".

EasySocial also has options for Redirection
* The EasySocial System plugin has an option for "Enable com_users Redirection" to register to EasySocial views. If this setting is enabled, the redirection settings in JFBConnect can be ignored.
* In the EasySocial backend > Settings > Users > Authentication section there are "Login Redirection" and "Logout Redirection" settings, as well.

We are in the process of updating documentation on our site and I've added this to the list, as I don't think we have anything right now that explicitly states how the two extensions work together. So it'd probably be more helpful to you if we help you out directly for this right now. We'll need some more information from you such as whether you're using social login vs Joomla login, what pages you want to redirect to on registration and login, etc. and we'll try to work through it with you.

Thank you so much, Mel. I am trying to accomplish the following:

1) Use EasySocial LogBox Module for login/registration purposes ONLY.
2) Bypass Joomla registration -> Use Easysocial
3) Automatic User activation
4) Use JFBC Integration to assist Login/Registration operation with existing Social Networks

With respect to login redirection - that link "Social" to point to is for registered users only which is correct
Registration is not working at all. My current settings are attached.

Adding the hidden menu item for EasySocial Registration grants access to new registrations with the above settings but how can we have JFBC port over the social login information to bypass the easysocial process in a single step?

Sorry for the delayed response. Hopefully the above helps explain things a bit further, but let us know if you need more assistance.

1) Use EasySocial LogBox Module for login/registration purposes ONLY.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I don't know if this relates to JFBConnect. If you want to use their login module, you can add our social login/registration buttons to it if you'd like or you can use our SCLogin module to show the Joomla login area and social login buttons. Let us know if you need more details on either of these options.

2) Bypass Joomla registration -> Use Easysocial

This is not something JFBConnect can control. There is an option to have EasySocial redirect the standard Joomla registration view to EasySocial. JFBConnect doesn't have any control of this. Your settings above look correct, but if that's not working, you'll need to contact the EasySocial developers.

3) Automatic User activation

JFBConnect has an option for "Skip Joomla Activation". If this is enabled, the standard Joomla activation won't occur. If you have that *and* automatic registration enabled in JFBConnect, the user shouldn't have to activate their account. That's how you're settings are configured above. If that's not working, please let us know what you see.

4) Use JFBC Integration to assist Login/Registration operation with existing Social Networks

The settings you have above should let a user use the social login buttons of JFBConnect and have their account created automatically. If an email address can't be obtained for a user, like if they're using Twitter, then they should go through the EasySocial registration flow with some of their profile details pre-filled from their Twitter profile.

I hope that explains how things should work. If you're seeing different behavior, please let us know what you see and how it's not how you want it to work. We'll gladly help explain or fix issues that you may be having.

Thanks,
Alex

No worries, Alex. I've hammered most of it out. :)

JFBConnect has an option for "Skip Joomla Activation". If this is enabled, the standard Joomla activation won't occur. If you have that *and* automatic registration enabled in JFBConnect, the user shouldn't have to activate their account. That's how you're settings are configured above. I've switched over to ES component for activation and will just use the settings through there.

If an email address can't be obtained for a user, like if they're using Twitter, then they should go through the EasySocial registration flow with some of their profile details pre-filled from their Twitter profile.

Easysocial has two different login modules. One of them is named EasySocial Login and the other one is EasySocial LogBox (which I use because it offers better frontpage styling). It appears that JFBConnect is fully integrated (social icons for both login and registration) into EasySocial Login module but only halfway integrated (social icons show for login only) into EasySocial LogBox.

I am needing the social icons to also appear for registration and not just login. www.opensourceliving.org

Glad to hear you have most things worked out.

For the integration with the login modules of EasySocial, that's completely done within EasySocial. When you enable the "Use JFBConnect" option, EasySocial code is activated to show our login buttons. We don't have any control over that. If you're looking for updates or improvements to how our code displays there, you'd need to contact the StackIdeas team.

I hope that helps explain,
Alex
