I am using JFBC, and SC Login and Quicklogout plugins. I recently changed my primary domain and SSL from olddomain.uk to newdomain.com. My problem is - the Facebook login via JFBC is redirecting to www.olddomain.uk. Also, after logging out of Joomla, user is redirected to www.olddomain.uk. I have checked everything in Joomla3.x to be in order, changed everything right from .htaccess, logs and tmp folders, replaced all instances of olddomain.uk in all Joomla files and the database. I have changed all JFBC settings, which does not show any errors. .htaccess is empty. I contacted host support, they said its not a server issue. Please try to solve it as soon as possible.

I would recommend enabling the standard Joomla login module (mod_login) and testing what happens when you login with standard credentials there and what happens when you logout. If the redirection still occurs, it means there's something causing the redirect that's unrelated to JFBConnect. I would suggest disabling any plugins that may be related to authentication or logout and keep testing until you find the plugin that's causing the problem.

Let us know if the Joomla login module has the same issue and we'll gladly try to help further from there.

Thanks,
Alex

No Joomla login module does not have the same issue. In fact, Google+ login/registration via JFBC is perfectly fine, it does not redirect. However, Facebook login redirects to www.olddomain.uk. It may not be a JFBC problem but may have something to do with the URL that a user is referred to after login via Facebook. Can you tell me the URL that a user is referred to after login via Facebook and the one after login via Google+? What is the difference between these URLs?

The URL is generated automatically by Facebook and should be index.php?option=com_jfbconnect&task=authenticate.callback or something like that. After the authentication process is complete, JFBConnect will determine where the user should be redirected to within Joomla based on your New User or Returning User Redirection options.

I don't know of any reason that the old URL should be used as it's not something we cache. If you've used Autotune, the settings in your Facebook Application should be correct too. If you've edited your Facebook Application settings manually, you should double check any changes you've made in the developer area.

I hope that helps explain things, but if you need more assistance, please let us know.

Thanks,
Alex

Hello Alex,

Can you have a look at the JFBC configuration via Joomla admin? I will provide you with admin and cpanel credentials.

Thanks.

I just visited your site again and now, when I login, I remain on the same domain. Is this an issue that only happens during registration? If not, it seems like the issue may have resolved itself... somehow.

Let us know if you're still having the problem or if you did anything that may have fixed it.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
The problem has been solved. I was using Joomdle plugin connecting Joomla to Moodle which uses XMLRPC protocol and handles user authentication for both Joomla and Moodle. The site parameter in Moodle was unchanged, hence the problem.
Thanks a lot for your efforts.

Ahh.. Glad to hear you found the solution.. and that it wasn't related to JFBConnect :)

If you run into anything else, just let us know.

Finally, if you haven't already, please consider leaving a rating and review for JFBConnect, or our support, on the Joomla Extension Directory. It's certainly not required, but very appreciated:

Thanks,
Alex
