Hi Alex,

Sorry to bump in, i'm also facing the same issue, popup window opens and thereafter its just a blank facebook popup and sometimes it gets greyed out.

I checked my two factor plugins in admin area they are all disabled. I also checked <Path to your website>/modules/mod_sclogin/ajax/otpcheck.php and i get response {"needsOtp":"false","form":""}

Further my facebook likes buttons are also not functioning they are all blank (I'm using Easy Tag to render like button).

This issue has cropped up in past three days, i suspect that there maybe some changes at facebook?

regards
Sunny

Sunnyside,
Your issue is different. The thread above is regarding an issue with using the standard Joomla login credentials, not Facebook. Facebook is constantly changing. My first recommendation would be to ensure you're using JFBConnect 6.5.3. If you still run into the same issues, please create a new thread and we'll gladly help however we can.

turaba,
If you're seeing that error, it means something is blocking that page from loading. If you are using an .htaccess generator, you'll need to set the path of /modules/mod_sclogin/ajax/otpcheck.php to not be restricted. The same would go for any firewall or other security extension you may be using to protect your site. As a real simple test, you can just replace your current .htaccess file with the Joomla default htaccess.txt file and see if that fixes it. If so, that will help you locate the issue and go from there.

Of course, if you're not using 2 factor authentication at all, if you disable that 2FA plugin, the issue will be fixed as well.

I hope that helps get you going,
Alex

Hello,

I guess I located issue that when I started using original htaccess.txt file button works normally. However if I switch to .htaccess generated by Admin Tools, it fails. I am sharing the file. May I ask which line can cause that?

AdminTools, I believe, has a method to un-restrict specific files from being loaded. You'll need to use that. I don't know how AdminTools creates the .htaccess file and I'm not an .htaccess pro. If you can't find the setting to un-restrict a file from being denied, you may need to ask Nic at AdminTools for how to do it.

Thanks,
Alex

adding the following file to the exception list in the .htaccess maker (Allow direct access to following .php files):
modules/mod_sclogin/ajax/otpcheck.php fixed the problems. Thank you.
