Channels - how to and news

1) We don't currently support channels for personal Facebook feeds. It's something we're looking to add either in one of the next 2 major releases of JFBConnect, but I don't know the specific release yet.

2) This is still on the back-burner. As Google continuously dismantles, de-features and de-prioritizes Google+, it's simply not a priority for us either. There are many other highly requested features that we're focusing on. At some point, if Google+ becomes a major focus for Google itself, begins to grow as a social network and/or becomes more requested from our user base, it's something we'll gladly focus on again. I know that's not what you want to hear, but it's just how it is with that network.

We agree that Channels are a great feature and could use even more improvements. Not everything you asked will be done in the next release, but we're focusing on them.

1) This is being investigated for the next release, but may get pushed back to the release after that.
2) The Channels feature is meant to be pretty easy to extend. If you'd like to see how the existing Channels are setup, simply look in the /components/com_jfbconnect/libraries/provider/XYZ/channel directory, where XYZ is Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. You can see the files there for pulling in feeds from Groups, Pages, Twitter Streams and LinkedIn Company Pages. You could create your own channel files in the /google/channel directory.
3) I like the new material design look. However, Joomla is still based off Bootstrap. We use those libraries to create most of our looks. Also, our Create Post box is admin-centric. While we want it to look good and function, our focus isn't on redesigning and perfecting it for a wide user base, since general guests wouldn't see it. It's not to say we want it to be ugly, but there are a huge amount of functional things we want to work on and themes/designing isn't one of our areas of expertise.
4) It's a good idea. We have plans for more channels, but this isn't planned for either of the next 2 releases.

Beyond the above, we do have more features planned for channels. The next release should have some auto-posting abilities for new content. That's still in the works though and could change as we get further through development.
