Hello,

actually we've on our live website the 6.2.0 version of jfbconnect, we're going to renew our license to upgrade it to the latest version.

( 1st question is about the fact that we're going to upgrade jfbconnect to the latest version before that we'll upgrade jomsocial to its latest version, we are using now the 3.2.1.5 version of jomsocial, is the latest version of jfbconnect compatible with this old version of jomsocial? or we are going to get in trouble in the while before the j.s. upgrade? )

On our website we're using another extension that is named SpPage builder that manage for itself the opengraph tags, there is a setting tab where you can set manually the title-description and image for the social-sharing action, infact *until yesterday* the facebook debugger was saying that we had a problem of duplicated tags, how can we manage this issue? This utility of spPageBuilder is really useful, is there a way to set manually these parameters for a single menu-voice also using jfbconnect? if yes how? if no how can we manage this duplicated o.g. tags on the joomla-menu-voices that links users to these pages made and managed from SpPageBuilder?

Above i wrote *until yesterday* because today we don't have anymore this error, but i noticed that all the pages of the website that aren't managed by spPageBuilder or jomsocial (jomsocial pages seems to work, with some errors that i will report in the end of this post) have no open graph images and descriptions reachable from the facebook debugger url that tells us this error :
<<An internal error occurred while linting the URL.>>

i think that all those pages were managed from the component jfbconnect, but now is not working anymore, can you tell me if there is something that we can do to fix this? it depends from the fact that we are using the 6.2.0 version of this component?

Waiting for your reply, all the best guys, i wish you a fantastic 2016.

p.s.
here there is the alert that the fb url debugger reports from an url picked from a jomsocial "group-page", it maybe depends from the fact that we re-managed with our hands the jomsocial menu, but tell us if you can undestand where is the problem.

________
The following will be treated as a redirect by the crawler:
A HTTP redirect
A <link rel="canonical" href=".." /> tag
A <meta property="og:url" content=".." /> tag
The final URL, which we tried to extract metadata from is highlighted in bold
________

Object at URL 'www.livinplay.com/index.php?option=com_c...oupid=665&Itemid=103' of type 'article' is invalid because the given value '/social' for property 'og:see_also' could not be parsed as type 'url'.

I don't think you'll run into any issues there. We try to maintain backward compatibility as much as we can and 3.2 is old, but not way too old.

This utility of spPageBuilder is really useful, is there a way to set manually these parameters for a single menu-voice also using jfbconnect?

With JFBConnect, on any page, you can specify the tags for that page (in the article contents, a module, or any other place that displays on the page) like:
{SCOpenGraph title=My Title for this Page}
{SCOpenGraph image=http://site.com/test-image.jpg}

here there is the alert that the fb url debugger reports from an url picked from a jomsocial "group-page", it maybe depends from the fact that we re-managed with our hands the jomsocial menu, but tell us if you can undestand where is the problem.

Those errors are from JomSocial's incorrect implementation of Open Graph tags. Please see this old post with some edits you can make to their files to prevent JomSocial from inserting the erroneous tags.

Waiting for your reply, all the best guys, i wish you a fantastic 2016.

Thanks! All the best to you too!

Hi Alex!!
thank you for the reply,
i didn't understand why now if i try to put in the facebook debugger the links of the website i gave this error:

Error parsing input URL, no data was cached, or no data was scraped.

i have this error with all the url's that are not "managed" by jomsocial or sp page buider, today we renewed the license and we updated JFBConnect to the latest release, but we still have this error

(you can try with this url : www.livinplay.com/guida-livinplay
or www.livinplay.com/blog
or www.livinplay.com/shop

or www.livinplay.com/blog/curiosita/468-il-para-tennisti this one is a joomla article and in the error i can see also this :

fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

)

the strange thing is that the error started to coming up only some days ago, before everything was working perfectly.

waiting for your reply, all the best!!!

1. In the Joomla Global Configuration area, could you try turning off Gzip Page Compression? There is a known issue with Joomla 3.x where the Facebook Open Graph Debugger and certain server configurations can prevent Facebook from scanning your page for Open Graph tags properly.
2. Could you check to see if you have any firewall settings that would prevent a bot from accessing your page?

or www.livinplay.com/blog/curiosit … a-tennisti this one is a joomla article and in the error i can see also this :
fb:app_id hasn't been included in the meta tags. Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog. Otherwise, the default app id( 966242223397117 ) will be assigned.

I just re-scraped this URL and did not see this error. Are you still having the problem?
