Hi,

It looks like we have the same problem by sharing articles like we had for sharing K2 items here .
Please try sharing my new test article here using the "Del" icon and you will see the issue.

Best regards,

Claus.

The issue is that the Like button is using the following URL:

naestved-cykel-motion.dk/index.php?optio...facebook&catid=8: om-naestved-cykel-motion&Itemid=1675

That URL is returning a MySQL error. The & 's normally are unencoded by the browser or your server to display the right page, but it doesn't seem to be working properly on your site.

Are you using a 3rd party SEF extension, or do you have Joomla's built-in SEF options enabled? It doesn't seem like you are using any SEF, which is fine, but that's the first place we usually look when their are errors like this.

Also, what version of JFBConnect are you using? Please make sure you're using the latest v6.5.3, which has some fixes for problematic URL issues.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,

Thanks, but we do not have any SEF or SEO functionality or extensions implemented. To me, the error looks somewhat similar to the one we had with K2 articles.
We are already running version 6.5.3. I can provide you backend access if that makes any sense?

Claus.

The issue here is different, though possibly related. If you can send us super admin and FTP credentials so we can see your configuration and make changes, that would definitely help narrow things down. The solution for K2 was implemented in the 6.5.3 release, but it's always possible that that cause issues in other areas of the site.

Thanks,
Alex

I apologize for letting this post get lost. I originally did start investigating, but couldn't make heads or tails of what was going on. I put it off and it slipped my mind.

I just had some time to investigate more and found the problem. It's not an issue with JFBConnect at all but a known issue with your template. As noted above, JFBConnect creates a more full version of the URL for your article that includes a query parameter like:
id=84:test-share-facebook
There is a known bug in the Shape5_vertex template that chokes on that type of query string, even though it's valid.

For more information, see the bug report below:
issues.joomla.org/tracker/joomla-cms/6829
There's a suggested fix in the post, but you may also want to contact your template provider or check if there is an upgrade available that may fix the glitch.

I hope that helps,
Alex
