Hi There,

I am curious if there's anyway to get my SCLogin account signed in menu, to work alongside Joomla's?

I've added a new menu item type of Text Separator as you can see in the screenshot #1 and #2 but on my live site then, the text separator is clickable and loads to the homepage - also it's hard to define for end-user usability, that certain menu items are in a various 'tree or hieracy' as normal joomla menu items are before adding 3rd party extensions, such as SCLogin.

In the screenshot, you will see #2 which is a Text Separator heading and directly below it, the 'Subscription Plan Categories' is the parent item but as you can see, it just looks like it's on it's own, as it's not indented to the right which would signify that it is a child of the parent menu item above?

Is there anyway around the above issue please?

I look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Regards,

Right now, we don't support additional styles or indentations for the parent/child relationships in menus. We've supported the User menu option for a few years now and no one has ever asked to support it, so it's not something we even realized or thought about until now. Generally, the user menus have just a few links so that they work well on mobile and desktop environments.

The Separator looks to be a bug. I'm unsure why that's not working, but we can gladly investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

So is it 100% out of the question to be able to stylise the menu, to indent child items of parent menu items in anyway please?

Also, if there's anything you need from me to see the separator issue live on a working (technically) site, just hollar and I can create a temp super admin that you can use front and back-end should it help.

Regards,
Rob

It's not out of the question, but not something very high on our priority list right now with PHP 7, Joomla 3.5 and impending updates to some of the social networks that will be happening in January that we need to test against. If you know PHP, I can gladly point you in the right direction. The other (very simple) option/trick you may want to try is simply setting your title on those menu items with spaces, like:
Parent Type
   Sub-Item

is a non-breaking space, which will add a space to the page. You could also do > or -- or something else for the user. It's worth a shot to get things going right now.

I'll try to recreate the separator issue locally first over the next few days and let you know what we find.

Thanks,
Alex

Alex,

No worries for now, I've used your kind of idea and put in place --- to signify the indent which will have to do for now.

Regarding the separator issue, in my mainmenu I have one or two text separators and they are doing exactly as expected, in that when I hover over them - I see it state javascript:void(0); but even though I selected one or two of myaccountmenu items as separators, within the SCLogin - instead these separators link directly back to my homepage.

Not sure if any of that is helpful but thought I would share just in case, as it's what I'm seeing at my end.
