When through JFBC an article is shared on Facebook is done it uses a "random" image.

Is it possible to use the picture of the article?
Is it possible to select the image to be used?

Many thanks for the help!

Edwin,
Facebook uses Open Graph tags to set the title, description and image to use when sharing your content. JFBConnect will try to set these automatically from what it can detect on the page. If you haven't already, please enable the Open Graph plugins for extensions you have installed and are using, like Open Graph - Content. Those plugins help JFBConnect to detect the best image to use based on an article's content, for example.

Beyond that, you can also do any of the following to help set the images for your page:
* In the JFBConnect -> Open Graph -> Configuration -> Defaults area, set a tag like the below to set a 'default' image that should be included on all pages as an option:
image=http://yoursite.com/link-to-image.jpg
* On any page, add the following tag to set it as the highest-priority image, which overrides any other images that may be set by the plugins or default tag:
{SCOpenGraph image=http:/yoursite.com/link-to-image.jpg}

I hope that helps get you going,
Alex

HI Alex,

thx for the replay.

I did check the settings to my best knowledge, however I did not get any better result.

At the plugins in the extension manager I did enable both open graph plugins.
Nothing to configure there.

I even did try to get the default image set with : image=http://yoursite.com/link-to-image.jpg
however without any result.

I would like to have the most relevant image at a Facebook share and not one at random of the site.
Best would be using image related or also present in the article
Or a screenshot of the site with the article in it.

any other advice?

Many thanks and the best wishes for 2016

Edwin

You can test any page from your site using the Facebook URL debug tool which shows you all the tags set for your page. Make sure to use the 'Fetch new scrape information' button whenever you make changes to see the impact immediately, otherwise, you'll need to wait a few days for Facebook to automatically re-scan your page.

If things still don't seem right when using that tool, let us know a URL you're playing with, what image you expect/want to be shown, and what tags or other settings you've configured to get it going.

Thanks,
Alex
