Topic-icon Problem with SCSocial Find Us after template upgrade

Hi there,

I am using JFBConnect Version: 6.5.1 on a Joomla 3.4.5 platform.
After upgrading my Yootheme template to the latest release, I am getting the following Error, when loading the frontend of my website:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getSocialTagRenderKey() on a non-object in /homepages/modules/mod_scsocialfindus/mod_scsocialfindus.php on line 26

Any advise, how to fix this problem, would be most appreaciated.

Thanks in advance and best regards

Michael

The quickest way to work around that problem would be to disable the SCSocialFindUs module. That should at least get the site back up and running.

As for the issue, I'm not sure what would cause that, but I'd recommend checking if you have the JFBCSystem plugin enabled? JFBConnect requires that plugin to operate, though it shouldn't crash like that if not.

Beyond that, have you tested other features, like social network authentication with Facebook or other networks? Curious if there are other issues that may be related.

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex,

thanks for your quick feedback.
I have already tried to disable the module and the site is working fine afterwards.
Points is, that I would like the SC Find us module working, because it is an important part of my website.

Your hint with the JFB System plugin solved the problem. In fact I had it disabled on my test site.
After enabling it, the problem was gone.

Thanks for your great and quick help.

Best regards

Michael

Glad to hear that got things going for you. We did some reworks under the hood in JFBConnect v6.5, which apparently caused some issues in the modules if the system plugin isn't enabled. We've taken note of this and will have it fixed in the next release, but it's a bit lower in priority since it's easy to fix on-site.

Thanks for your patience and the report,
Alex
