I apologize for the delay. We release JFBConnect 6.5 and then had to update for a few minor issues and then another issue related to the Joomla 3.4.6 release. Those kept me a little sidetracked.

With that said, I had some time today to investigate the email verification setting today and we have a fix implemented. There will be yet another JFBConnect release later tonight or tomorrow which should fix this up for you. Whenever you see the 6.5.3 release posted, please update and install (you can use the Joomla auto-updater to make it a very easy process). I'd love to hear your feedback.

Thanks!
Alex

Yes, everything is working as it should be. The registration completes without any errors even with Community Builder email validation enabled.

Do you have any idea why there is a problem with greek characters? When someone tries to log in with Facebook JFB Connect does not recognise the username although it is generated. I am attaching an image. The image is exactly after i hit the Facebook login button. The error that the system shows is "Please enter a username". Then if i click the green button (register) the registration completes without any problems.

I'm not sure, honestly. We've never heard of that issue before. Are you sure it's only with Greek characters in names? We have many different sites that work with UTF-8 / international character names without issue. I don't know what would be different about your site, but if you can let us know any tests you've performed to narrow things down, we can try to use your FTP credentials again to narrow down the cause further. Any details you have just help speed things along.

Thanks,
Alex

I will make some more tests Alex and i will let you know. It's not that big an issue though.

Two days ago i noticed another issue. Not sure if it is JFB Connect or Community Builder or Joomla. I have some users that registered in the past but they did NOT receive an e-mail activation code and the accounts remained unconfirmed and were not enabled as expected. Now the same users tried to log in with Facebook and the system throws this error: "Login denied! Your account has either been blocked or you have not activated it yet."

I suppose that although JFB Connect is working properly now, Community Builder or Joomla are still seeing these e-mails as unconfirmed and they are not letting JFB Connect to confirm these e-mals and activate the accounts.

What you describe is pretty much what I'd expect. The change we made will affect new users. Previous users that registered with Facebook that didn't have their CB account created properly will have issues. You'll need to make sure you sync the user database to CB. As for their activation status at that point, I'm not sure how that will work. You may need to manually activate them. Not sure of any way around this as our change only affects registrations going forward. There's no way for JFBConnect to know which users went through the incorrect process previously.

Also, regarding Greek characters, I notice you linked your Facebook account to this site. Can you tell me if you originally registered using Facebook and ran into the same issue here, or if you created a standard Joomla account and then linked it to Facebook after. Will help us narrow things down if we can recreate the issue on this site.

Thanks,
Alex

Gotcha. That doesn't tell us much then :) Alright, let us know how your testing goes and we'll try to do some testing on our own.. though as mentioned, many, many international sites use JFBConnect and it's not an issue we've heard of. My guess is there's just something different about your site, but I'm not sure what.

Thanks,
Alex
