Okay I haven't got very far with setting up JFBConnect.

I am running the latest version of Joomla 3 and the latest version of JReviews. I also have installed JCHOptimize and a few other things.

I installed JFBConnect and ran the autotune. I enter my subscription id along with the client and secret ids for Facebook, Twitter and Google. When I hit the button to continue I got a blank page. I am not sure how many pages the autotune has.

When I click on other pages in the JFBConnect Admin interface I also get blank pages for the Overview and Page Tab/Canvas. Everything else seems to work fine and I have not touched any other settings.

Any idea what went wrong?

Tom

Could you enable error reporting in the joomla configuration area and see if there are any error messages? A blank page usually indicates a PHP error. It's possible that we missed some configuration scenario in our testing of the latest JFBConnect release. Please let us know if there was anything reported.

I should have mentioned that, I did it before and nothing is returned on those blank pages. I did initially not have the FB App not available for public viewing which I fixed but the problem still happens. The blank pages are completely blank, the source of the page has nothing in it.

Also during the AutoTune I can view every page except Facebook APP (I didn't try "Finish" because I didn't want to complete the process)

Tom,
Sorry to hear you're running into some issues. We just released a big update yesterday, v6.5, with what should have been quite a few improvements.. both bug fixes and features.

You're encountering something we haven't seen in previous releases and didn't encounter in our extensive testing of this new release. Could you Private Message super admin credentials to me so I can investigate further. Since it does sound like a PHP error, if you have and can provide FTP credentials, that will allow us to step through our code and get things fixed up very quickly for you.

To PM me, please click the mail icon under my name to the left.

Thanks,
Alex

We're doing more testing now to narrow this down and think we've found a quick workaround. Can you go to the Plugin manager and enable the JFBCSystem plugin in the system group? That will include the proper libraries and should overcome the error.

We'll be putting out a 6.5.1 release later today to resolve this issue for other users as well to prevent the obvious headaches it will cause.

Let us know how that goes and sorry for the inconvenience.

Hmmm maybe that is what partly helped in my case .... as I just got it working now.

Here is what I did

1) Reran autotune but I removed the Facebook keys (left Twitter and Google)
2) Got to site check and enabled all plugins
3) Next to error check. It complained that it could not find the JFBCSystem plugin (if I remembered correctly). At this point I cleared the joomla cache, disabled JReviews social networks features, disabled JCHOptimized but all didn't help. What did help was when I disabled the System - Page Cache (Use Browser Caching is not enabled). After this the error check completed without errors.
4) I then went back and reran autotune and added in Facebook keys and went through the rest of the autotune without problems.
5) I have just now slowly re-enabled everything I disabled in #3 and JFBConnect is working and I can login using my Facebook Account (haven't tried the others yet), even with the System - Page Cache enabled.

Edit: Forgot to mention that after point #3 I did go ahead and enable the SCLogin Module and disable the Joomla one.

I'm glad to hear things seem to be working for you. We released v6.5.1 earlier today after we narrowed down the primary cause of the issue. If you are leaving the JFBCSystem plugin enabled, you shouldn't need it, but upgrading never hurts to ensure you don't run into other unforeseen issues.

Thanks,
Alex
