If you only want data to go into JomSocial, I'd recommend disabling the Kunena and Joomla social profile plugins. It's just extra work to do during the login process and another place where things can go wrong.

Once you disable those, make sure you have the JomSocial plugin configured as you want. Another thing to check is to disable the "JomSocial Redirect plugin" which has been known to cause many issues on other sites.

Hopefully that gets you going, but if disabling those 3 plugins doesn't help things, let us know and we can investigate further.

Thanks,
Alex

Could you go into your Plugin Manager and disable the JFBConnect user, system and authentication plugins (thus disabling JFBConnect) and verifying whether the behavior still exists? Try logging in at the Joomla users component (index.php?option=com_users&view=login) and let us know what you find.

'System - JFBCSystem' is our system plugin that is packaged with JFBConnect. This is one of our plugins that I asked you to disable in my previous post. The other plugin is one that comes with JomSocial. If you're using JomSocial's 'Use SourceCoast's JFBC' option, then this plugin should be disabled anyways. Disable both and let me know if the problem persists.

If you disabled all JFBConnect plugins and the problem persists, it means it's not an issue with our extension. I don't know where to point you, but hopefully that helps you look in the right direction at another extension or configuration setting that may be causing the problems.

Thanks,
Alex

Hanna,
JFBConnect doesn't alter any Joomla files when it installs. The only way our extension does anything is if our plugins are enabled. If you're still confident that JFBConnect is the cause, I'd recommend uninstalling it entirely. All of our settings remain in the database so when you re-install you wouldn't have to re-configure everything. If JFBConnect isn't present on your site and the problem persists, it's definitely not a JFBConnect issue.

Beyond that, this thread started in October and you didn't seem to notice the Joomla login failures until mid-December. My guess, and what we've seen in the past, is that users start testing their authentication features on their site more when JFBConnect is installed. This simply brings to light issues that already existed before, or changes made after, JFBConnect was installed.

Thanks,
Alex
